GuruMatt's Tips and Tricks: Speedrun Strats - The Escapists 2

UPDATE: I forgot to talk about the red key locations on the USS Anomaly! The third guard in the first row, and the last guard in the last row, are the only two guards with red keys on the map. If you need to escape quickly, make sure you memorize their names or rename them yourself!
We describe some of the habits of highly effective speedrunners, what guards have important keys in Area 17, as well as the fastest ways to escape HMP Offshore and Rattlesnake Springs!

What's funny is that I actually didn't know changing the names and appearances for prisoners and guards was possible until I joined into a server where this guy named every single prisoner and guard the same thing and made all of them look exactly alike. It was pretty funny, considering I spent like 3 game days on that server until finally noticing once I had looked in enough desks just to find that the names were exactly the same. Also not to mention I have like over 250 hours on this game LMAO.

That certainly sounds like a great video! Versus mode is definitely a different beast than regular prisons. Sometimes I get so caught up in making a particular escape or searching for one set of items people will bust out before I can muster resources. xD

Does the guard key order work for console too?

For the guards with certain keys, is that pattern the same for other maps, if not, can you make a vid on that, I can’t find anything about it

The only other map I know for sure is on the USS Anomaly. The third guard in the top row and the last guard in the last row are the only two that have red keys on the map. I'll see about expanding that in a future video if I can, thanks for the suggestion!

I got 3:01.7 on U.S.S anomaly and now I'm 1st on the leader boards but I still don't know how to tell who has the red key is it always the first guard?

In USS Anomaly specifically I *think* it's the third guard in the first row and the last guard in the bottom row (one of the two in the contraband room). I'm not sure if they've changed how it spawns or not.
