Gus is the newest brawler in Brawl Stars, and in this video, I'm going to break down his gadgets, Gus's Star Powers, and all of his abilities! I'm also going to compare him to every brawler in the Brawl Stars Olympics!

Yes.... or maybe make his unique feature more op >:) How bout the shield doesnt decay and the healing not being a base number but a percentage of (Maximum) hp about 60% . Only draw back being then his charged shot will be more useful to tanky brawlers. Anyways a simple reload speed buff can be just enough to make him get a better position in the meta. Edit - I just realised how my idea of the charged shot healing being a percentage was a horrible idea..... Imagine frank and gus in a team... and every time gus gives frank heals , Frank heals for 6k Hp. I know now why i am not a game developer :( Edit Part 2- Better idea for gus if he needs a buff... instead of his second star power ( where you gain more damage) make a star power so that you can throw your charged shot anywhere you want( example wall , teammate etc.) also if you need more buffs make it so the first star power instead of extra healing just make you get the charged shot in 2 hits( i calculated ... In the long run i.e. a match it is better value).

I think so too but it might be too strong with his explosion gadget since you could stack the ghosts onto a choke point and anyone who walks through there just gets insta killed if he uses it

I feel like the only way to spawn a ghost shouldn't really be hitting an enemy, like often enemies are in their side of the map basically making teammates go to their side risking their death just to get healed 1000 hp, so here's some ideas: 1. i think it should just be the next attack in general should spawn the ghost no matter what after charging the bar. 2. Buff the healing to 1500. keep the star power 2000. i believe these small changes could make him better of a support since he kinda seems better off as a damage dealer instead but he isn't even good at that either. these changes COULD make him better but at the same time not *great* which i believe makes him a more balanced-ish support since he doesn't really do his job as one. edit: and if anything just take 1 hit off to charge the bar

Give him a fourth ammo, and possibly increase his reload speed a little bit. This would increase his burst damage a bit, as well as increasing the number of ghosts he can get down. His super could home in on teammates. In team play this doesn't matter too much, but as a Byron player I expect hitting that super his gonna be really hard in soloq.

In an organized ladder team, he’s going to be bad. It takes him 4 attacks to heal what poco can in 3 and Byron can in 1 1/2, and that’s with the extra health SP. In power league, there is not a reason to use him at all. Just use Byron if you need a ranged healer

Having Gus spawn ghosts only when he hits enemies seems to be a bad limitation on a good mechanic. During a match, your teammates would almost never stay on the enemy side of the map, the ghosts do almost no good to your team unless you are teamed with assassins. Having ghosts spawn when you hit enemies makes it seem a bit luck based, as their positions depend greatly on where your opponents decide to go, instead of where you want them to be. The ideal role of Gus would be a Support which requires strategic planning, putting healing spots in areas that may help your teammates push up a lane. The lack of choice only hinders the optimal position and usage of his utility. Therefore, Gus should be allowed to leave a balloon at the very end of an attack after charging his spirit bar. This makes his playstyle much more strategic and less reliant on enemy movement, while not being as braindead as Byron's healing for better consideration is needed when placing ghosts. Moreover, his super is a bit lacking for it misses too easily. Unlike Byron who can cast healing in an area and over walls. Gus can easily fail to give shields to teammates who truly need them during a fight (you wouldn't need a shield if you are not engaged in battle, you would fall back) and up an enemy lane. I suggest letting his super pass through walls, this lets him give better lane support in a match with a better area of aim. Anyway, great and highly detailed video as always. Great job!

This is exactly the same as my reasoning, except I would consider two more possible buffs for his super: 1) decrease decay 2) leave a balloon wherever it lands for some time or until used again Both options would increase it's flexibility by removing or reducing the need to have gus nearby during a fight, allowing the shield to be given or placed preemptively, with a lower risk to waste it. Since his super can only hit one ally, has no effect on enemies and unlike other similar supers it can miss or not reach the target, I think it would be a very good idea to make it easier to use.

fun fact: gus bio probably been updated before sneak peek cuz in the brawl talk we see a different bio that says he got lost at a forest or something for quite a while, no only that but the original bio was darker a lot from other brawler descriptions ans really makes gus creepy than he should

One of my biggest issues with Gus is that you have to hit an enemy with the spirit bar for the ghost to spawn, so unless you’re facing aggressive/melee brawlers, which Gus is bad against because of his low DPS, you’re going to be spawning ghosts on the enemy side of the map. No rational teammate will risk going deeper into the enemy side to heal. I think the easiest way to resolve this is to make the ghost spawn wherever Gus attacks so you can position them where teammates need them, and nerf the amount of ghosts he can have on the map at a time to prevent ghost stacking.

Gus’s super seems not very strong when he uses it on himself and too risky for how hard it is to charge to use on teammates. An improvement I would add would be that his super projectile works a little like Piper’s second gadget where it homes to a teammate. His super could also be buffed so that if Gus chooses to throw his super and misses, he gains the benefits of the super. Another buff for Gus could be that he doesn’t need to hit an opponent to spawn a ghost, rather once he charges his spirit bar, the ghost will spawn where ever the next attack ends.

I think if he misses the super it could leave a balloon on the ground that Gus or his allies could pick up to get a shield. It would be a bit weaker than a shield recieved from a direct hit or auto-aim though.

It's strange. I'm actually really excited for the prospect of a new brawler NOT being overpowered/really strong, but possibly being mediocre. We've had a lot of extremely OP brawlers these past few releases, so Gus & Sam Bronson being sort of balanced feels like a breath of fresh air.

Personally, my favorite memories of this game were when new brawlers were absolutely OP on release. Thats IMO when brawl is most fun. Of course it gets old after awhile but supercell usually nerfs within weeks. Rosa meta was so hilarious and playing leon when he came out was the most fun I've had in this game period

About Gus, I think he could be a really good choice in modes like Bounty or Knockout. Because he has a decent range and could do a good job at keeping his teammates alive. In Gem Grab or in Brawl ball he is probably a bit worse and i think he sucks in evry other gamemode, but he is just superrare so i will get him eventually and i am happy about every new Brawler

If they would buff him in some way they could then make it so that the ghost also spawn if he hits a wall. it would make it so that you have more control over where they might appear.

Yeah the ghost mechanic should have it so that the ghost goes wherever his next shot lands. This means that you would be able to hit it against a wall on your side and that's where it'll be. Also this could lead to some gadget setups in Brawl Ball where you have ghosts at certain chokepoints near your goal and you set off your gadget to get the ball away from them and deal some knockback. It's just unfortunate how in his current form he's just a far worse version of Byron in every way possible (except for base HP).

1st of all supercell NEED to make his 4th shot make a heal ghost to all obstacles or even teammates. 2nd they really need to BUFF HIS 2ND GADGET like maybe make him take 10% DMG for a fully charged bar.

I think this brawler has to get 1 thing: PIERCING ATTACKS, he looks like a Byron that deals less damage, heal 1 every 5 attacks and with Just 1000 more health. I'd also like the ability to put the baloon where you want, without even hitting anyone and to make the super be on the ground if you miss It. Also the heal of his baloon Is 2/3 of a normal Byron Attack, make It heal 2000 damage and his shield to loose 4% of his health, with a shield of 4000 health. Also this meta Will be full of support brawlers (Pam, Poco, Ruffs), he Will be F tier or low C tier and I'm sad cuz this brawler looks really unique and fun. He Is prob. a Little bit stronger than Colette on realese, and she had 9 BUFFS After that, so I think it's fair

Here's a fun fact about Otis that you might have not known! We all know his super can disable an enemy's attack, super and heck it even disables gadgets! However, It also disables your ability to remember he even released!

I feel like Gus has a lot of potential for hotzone and gemgrab because of his ghosts. If you could stack up several ghosts inside the hotzone, or near the gem spawner, then your teammates can play more aggressively with a lot less risk, which could be especially useful when trying to make a comeback in hotzone

If casting his Super on a teammate / himself, then the Shield should knock Enemies back upon receiving it. This could be a Star Power but it would also make Gus a more valuable Support Brawler and make him less vulnerable against let's say Edgars.

I made some ideas for a second star power. He could have one called “Jumpscare”(his super is now able to debuff enemies; lowers their speed or something) or one called “Ghost town”(he spawns a ghost any time he gets a kill.)

I think that Gus might synergies very well with brawlers who have jumping supers. Just imagine a bunch of ghosts clumped up on the enemies side, and then Bony jumps in and takes out the entire area since she just keeps healing with the ghosts

when edgar and byron came out i was more hyped for byron because i thought hed be op. i was right. i think gus is going to be in a similar situation where he has HUGE potential if he plays back. he can deal some chip damage and provide a heal for close range brawlers like bull and rosa and provide shields from a distance. I feel like with pairings he will be a win condition in many teams.

I think what supercell should do to gus is just to make his atttack explode/pop when hitting an enemy doing splash damage but the pop radius should be small bug not too small I doubt if supercell would do it

Buff idea: for his ghosts, if the player who touches it would recover to 100% HP with excess Heal, have a balloon button appear on that player's screen to activate the ghost (this is to avoid popping a ghost at 99% HP).... or just turn that excess heal into shield.

I feel like he's honestly too weak, specially compared to other healers. Here's my opinion: 1.his heal needs to be ramped up and is not on demand unlike others, i feel he should at least be able to shoot an ally to heal them when the spirit bar is full. 2.His range is nice, but his damage feels very low for how long his reload speed, i think his reload speed could use a slight bump potentially. It would potentially mean more frequent damage and healing 3.his super sounds awesome, i just hope it goes through walls considering poco's does, byron's is a throw and gus's super is harder to aim than both, and is only single target. Other than going through walls i don't personally think iy needs anything else.

I had a brawler idea made by me a long time ago, didn't really thought about it much cuz my brawler had a ghostly vibe to it and most of brawlers in bs are not like that, but now gus is here so I want to share this idea.. 🙃🙂 Name :- Whisp (not final) Character design :- ghostly girl with a shroud/cloak like design Main attack :- ----- Super :- Destiny bond Casts out a magical spell on a teammate and bonding his hp to your (with 8-bit plugged in wire like animation) , 60% of damage taken by teammate will be transferred to you (so ye don't use on random mortises) the super button will still remain charged after using it on the teammate, but the icon on it will get changed, now you can attack an enemy with the super and bond your teammate to that enemy for the same 60% damage transfer shield (it will last for 5 sec so make sure your teammate transfer as much damage as possible) Gadget:- Magic spell :- casts a spell on the ground having 4500 hp but it's non solid ( means shots will pass through it) , has a zone around it (same radius as stu's gadget) 50% of damage taken by allies in that zone will be transferred to the turret until it get destroyed.. Sp :---------

The closest thing we have to Gus currently, is probably Byron - a long ranged support brawler with heal mechanics and mid-to-low damage. With that in mind, I think a reload speed buffs would be the best thing for Gus - the reload speed nerf brought Byron right down from the meta, and I think a buff for Gus would probably do the opposite. The key with these brawlers who have the potential to heal on their basic attack, is that buffing anything to do with their normal attack, is huge - because healing on a basic (or at least having an ability to use the basic for healing purposes) is such a good ability, so being able to do it more and more often really improves the kit. That probably made zero sense lol

I think Gus needs a reload speed buff. He needs to land his shots in order to help his team, so a slow reload is a big detriment to him. I also think a super charge increase could be nice, his super can easily be wasted if missed. Also I think it's weird he needs to land his shot to spawn the ghost when his bar is charged, I would like it if the ghost spawned either way so you can throw the attack to a teammate or just put it in the back for later.

I love it and the trio for these brawlers..i didn't think new brawlers would excite me that much, but the spooky, cool, dark and mythical is my fav in any game. Would love to see a dragon related brawler too. xD One to this trio could be a queen witch, that's the one possessing Gus.

His ghost placement is the only weird thing about his kit. I think that attacks that have ghosts on them should have shorter range, not do damage, and not cost ammo. The ghost would spawn wherever the attack ends, regardless of who or if it hits anyone That way he can place them more strategically.

I had a buff idea for him, meaby if he knocks out a brawler, that had less health than the damage they received, the overflowing damage would pierce like penny's coins, to give him at least a bit more multiple target potential, like if he did 1200 damage, the enemy brawler had 800 HP, 400 damage would fly a bit more behind as a gust of air where he hit the brawler

I think they should add the spiritual animal as base kit and make another star power where when his red bar is full his ghost deals double the damage to the brawler it hits before being placed and they should make his movement speed and reload faster.

A buff for Gus is that when his bar is charged up that his ghost gets placed down where it hit at or at the end of his attack range no matter what and/or make it like byron’s attack but instead for Gus make it where he can hit his own teammates and spawn a ghost at their position

Rework idea: give him burst damage but reduce damage by a little. Buff idea: he does not need need to hit an enemy to spawn a ghost. Also, if he misses his super he will get a small portion of it back to use it again faster.

I think a good minor buff could be that his super could get through walls to the teammate, because he doesn't have any stunning escaping or damaging abilities, the support that he does it depends on the enemies, so it should have more than that.
