Why was Gustav cooked at a lower power? Does that mean that the position restricted power output but the effort was still high?

Is it possible to return from such a chronic injury that Gustav seems to be having trouble with? Achilles tendinitis seems like something that can plague any serious running training and progress and without it at the highest, its impossible to be competitive at the level he was. Also, it seems that Achilies issue is so persistent and no matter how you address it - physio, strength training, de-load etc.. it's there to stay 😕

troublesome yes but many top athletes have recovered well and carried on at the top of the sport. Haile Gebreselassie comes to mind.

They missed strength training, they said they never done it, that's probably why he got injured

@@y3_38 streching does not prevent injuries, especially regarding tendons - there isn't one scientific proof. If anything you should strenght training them to prevent inflammations, but even that does not prevent it 100% of time.

@ucancallmedude8329 I meant strength training, I know using weight can't prevent 100% but for sure I helps to some point, there are many resources about that

I'm by no means a pro, but I've been plagued on & off by achilles tendinitis for periods as long as 2 or 3 months durin 3 or 4 years in a row, but i've also had long periods without any trouble whatsoever when I can go really hard without any flare up... In my opinion (I mean in my case) it's also due to under hydrating & bad food (or drink) habits + increasing training load too fast. I think what really makes it bad & chronic is insisting & training while still "badly" injured. I'm sure anti-inflamatory drugs dont help either if taken too long. However, having a pro team around him should prevent Gustav from making all these "rookie" mistakes?
