so many blue belts in the coments who dont realize what good jiu jitsu looks like while i agree that 50/50 is boring af and double guard pull should be banned, batista's balance and smooth transistions were all on point. It was adam great guard retention that stopped him. Watch his other matches on Pan Ams where he does the same thing, and you'll see just how good he is and how fast he passes the guard with almost no effort. And yet godon's fanboys dont realize that passing in the gi cannot be done just by shifting your hips in the air are always complaining of lack of action. This was a great match. You have to be really educated in bjj to understand why . Maybe Batista could have been faster or more agressive but still, he didnt stall Also Adam didnt attempt a single sweep. Why is that? Why is batista the bad guy for "not passing " and yet adam is the poor victim? Thats because there are no bad guys here, these guys are just too good and they are both neutralizing each other's games.

Blue belt here. I agree with you. I enjoyed watching it. However, I want to see less rules, not more. Jiujitsu is jiujitsu. The solution to avoid boring strategies is for people to develop even better jiujitsu that will overcome these obstacles. The less rules, the more pure the jiujitsu. In the end, if it’s too boring, people will tune out and the sponsors will go elsewhere. That’s sure to make these boring fighters think twice.

@Sotirios Novatsis sponsors ain't going anywhere, if one leaves another will take its place. If Gi was that boring then it would have lost all sponsors years ago.

@@SammyhWorld Agreed. And although jiujitsu may not be the most exciting spectator sport for non-practitioners, there are so many people practising it that it will always have a strong enough viewership. To us who know what to look for, it's always beautiful.

generally speaking it's the guy on the top that's expected to be more active. you'll get a passivity warning more quickly if you're both passive, but you're on the top. it doesn't (or at least, shouldn't) matter what your name is. I do agree this match is not an example of stalling.

Should really be a golden point extra time if no one has scored points. Shouldn't lose on an advantage and with no real attempt to do anything

i'm rooting for Wardziński - my compatriot - but objectively speaking, the first advantage (at least) was deserved here. it wasn't some bullshit technicality, Adam was really in hot water there.

Love the loose belt tactic. Probably got one brand new just for that match lol

What amazes me is that the announcers have no understanding of Adam's game. If his guard is getting passed, he turtles up, and he is GREAT at recovering guard from turtle. Watch enough of his matches and you will see what I am talking about.

it does backfire now and then though, because he risks giving his back. eg. against Xande, and even twice if I'm not a mistaken.
@jrizzy626 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they also missed the fact that he uses half guard as step 1 to get to his butterfly sweep a lot of times.
