I grew up in Colombia with my Father's discs from Soda Stereo, always felt they were different, that Gustavo was not afraid of keep evolving his sound. The more you hear his music and compare what were doing other legends in the world in different years, you know this guys were not behind, Soda and Cerati was and always will be Complete AAA Rock Stars.

Cerati was still turning out top notch work closing in on age fifty. This is practically unheard of in that business. Rock stars get rich & the ideas that caused success disappear. Gustavo was on another level, the music was always with him. I think as North Americans we can be too quick to give artists that are non English speakers a chance. I found Cerati’s music through a friend from Argentina that was helping me learn Spanish. I’ll give ‘total thanks’ to my friend from Punta Alta for turning me on to Soda Stereo & Cerati. I’ll say, try Luis Alberto Spinetta or Charly García……..Say No More Richard Coleman…great guitarist & singer as well

I was lucky enough to be present by chance in a small pub in Buenos Aires called Zero Bar, the very day they played for the first time for an audience (a very small one too) Must have been in the early 80s.
