Williams is always so humble. I think part of this is that he understands the orchestra. It's never just the composer or the conductor, nor is it any one player, it's all of them together who can create the music. If Williams would sit in front of a computer and generate all sounds by himself maybe that humbleness wouldn't be so pronounced.

My Friend and Coaches of Sports at Fond du Lac High School - would be extremely proud of me. Since watching Los Angeles 1984, the Arts also have become Big to me. With that day living in the History of the World, that Ceremony at The Coliseum (By The way, it should be the New Home for the Army/Navy Game) was something I have watched on You Tube over and Over Again. Still wishing for the HD of Moscow and LA to come out - if God has a Way I'm sure he has been watching.

I don't know. With music like this for the Olympics we can dare to dream. I understand why people are hesitant to have music like this since any hints of "Greatness" will associate too much with '36. But Williams just dares, even though it's modernist.

Were the trombones not mic'ed at all? During the big BOOM!! low Gs near the beginning, all your could hear were the timpani. Overall, it was a pretty lackluster performance IMO.
