Varna is a major city in Bulgaria and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country and the Black Sea. As we walk through its streets we will remember some of the most important things you should know about Varna.

Varna is located on the Black Sea coast in the northeastern region of Bulgaria. It is the economic and cultural center of the Dobruja region, which enjoys beautiful beaches and a more than pleasant climate.
Although we arrived by train, Varna International Airport is one of the largest airports in Bulgaria and serves as a gateway to the city and the coastal region, with direct flights from much of Europe.
It may come as a surprise to you, but Varna has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, dry summers, and a relatively mild winter. This makes it a popular destination for beach tourism during the summer months.
For us that is important, while the cold is already taking over northern Europe and much of the central area, here the pleasant temperatures last for a couple more months.
Varna is known for its beautiful beaches on the Black Sea coast. The most famous beach is the Golden Beach ("Zlatni Pyasatsi"), which attracts tourists from all over the world and we will see in a next video.
Varna is a major cultural center and hosts several festivals and events throughout the year, including the Varna International Film Festival and the Varna Folklore Festival. In addition, the city has several theaters, museums and art galleries.
Varna has a rich history dating back to the time of the ancient Thracians and has been inhabited by Greeks, Romans and Ottomans over the centuries.
The Varna Archaeological Museum is famous for displaying the "Varna Gold", a Bronze Age treasure that is one of the oldest and largest in the world.
Furthermore Varna is an important economic center and a key seaport in Bulgaria. The port of Varna is one of the largest on the Black Sea and plays a vital role in trade and shipping in the region.
Finally Varna also offers a lively nightlife with numerous bars, clubs and restaurants. This makes many foreigners choose it to live, because it is a lively and pleasant city compared to others in the region.
