⚠️ BREAKING NEWS ⚠️ A Amtrak passenger train carrying 104 people has collided with a collapsed overpass, the Federal Railroad Association, and other officials are still investigating what caused the train to be on the mainline that was obstructed. We are currently unsure of deaths, but we do know that at least 30 to 40 passengers were injured. Please stand by as we get more information on this incident.

The washington train derailment Date: 15th July 2026 Story: at 1 pm, the 13:49 to Boston left from Washington, the train consisted of a Siemens acs-64 hauling 8 amfleet I carriages. The ride was going smoothly until the driver noticed 3 injured looking people standing near the tracks. The driver was concerned so he stopped his train to check on them. After checking, he proceeded back to his locomotive. He was a bit late now so he had to speed up to make up for lost time. He made it to his first stop and picked up passengers, after which he sped off again. But trouble lay ahead, as a bridge had collapsed nearby and hadn't been reported yet. The driver began to slow down, still unaware about the danger lying ahead. At 3:14 pm, the driver noticed a car hanging over the bridge with an ambulance tending to the injured driver, He thought nothing of it and continued into imminent danger. At 3:30 pm, the driver rounded a curve into the collapsed bridge, as the driver spotted this, he immediately applied the emergency brakes, slowing to 89 mph, but it was much too late. The train slammed into the bridge and shot upwards, the carriages derailed and piled on top of eachother, mangling and trapping the passengers inside. Emergency services arrived as soon as possible, but it was too late, 30-40 passengers had died and 120 more were sent to the hospital, with only 20 passengers on the train not suffering serious injuries. It was found that the cause of the accident was a bridge pylon that collapsed due to maintenance being skipped over and no one was alerted when the bridge finally collapsed. A memorial was put near the bridge to commemorate all the lost souls, may they rest in peace. black box recording (yes trains have black boxes): (Acceleration noises) Driver (to guard): we've reached 90 miles per hour. It looks like Studénka accident from 8.8.2008 where EC 108 comenius from Kraków to Prague has crashed to fallen bridge. 8 people died in this accident. Train driver had luck he survived this accident
