Heard this song on Q101 in Chicago at 18 and fell in love with them. Still feel the same way 26 years later.

yeah, a friend of mine randomly played this while we were riding in his car back in the fall/winter of 2002...30 seconds into the opening, I absolutely had to know what it was

This song is so great live. Saw them twice last weekend. They did 23 songs Friday then 24 songs by our count on Saturday, with very few repeats. Good lads, too, in the band. Nice folks.

[Verse 1: Adam Gardner] Glad you made it, welcome to the farm Who's your daddy? I'm your daddy now I'm here seeking only what I need In your mind is where I'll plant my seed It's for sure - [Chorus: Ryan Miller] Let me keep you in this place You'll be better off this way I will keep you warm and safe You'll be better off this way You learn to love the price you pay Trust me dear you're better off this way - [Verse 2: Adam Gardner/Gardner & Ryan Miller] Put to bed the sun and sister moon I'll be hiding in your dirty room I'll go there seeking only what I need La di da we'll stay there 'til we bleed It's for sure - [Chorus: Ryan Miller] Oh, let me keep you in this place You'll be better off this way I will keep you warm and safe You'll be better off this way I will not wake you from your sleep Leave you wandering counting sheep No more sad and sunshine days Trust me dear, you're better off this way You'll be selling books at the airport

2:15 That just cracks me up. I imagine that the other two are cool, calculated manipulators... and then their f***boy intern ruins it and cartwheels away. XD

I've trying to remember this band, this song for 3 weeks. I got hit by a car, and lost my memory. I've been getting little snips of things periodically.

Saw Guster last Friday at the State Theater in Portland, Maine. At the end of this song when the ping-pong sound plays, they had the audience throw ping-pong balls they could purchase that they wrote song requests on onto the stage. We didn’t buy any, but two landed by my feet, so I was able to throw a couple.

We were at that gig, and then again Saturday. Great shows! We were impressed how nice they are, and down to Earth. I met two of them, and my lady met 3 of them, all separately that weekend.

I have a hate/love relationship, I downloaded some completely other song from mIRC or something back in 1996-1997... It was some over seas user, it took like 10 hours. Probably cost me $30. But it turned out to be this song instead, renamed... And it's been on my playlist for 25 years.

Evelynn Cobb What do you mean?
@Tuteins3 жыл бұрын
Maybe he means that, this song could be so much better in the studio version as the live performances that Guster did. 'Cause this song sounds fucking awesome in live performance, but in this studio version the song have a minimalistic sound, and it's ok, much of the studio stuff depends on a good producer, sometimes I think this album was produced by Guster themselves. Imagine if Steve Lillywhite produced Airport Song! (he produced Lost And Gone Forever)
