See how to add some decent blocks to the default *Gutenberg for WordPress* editor with these great free add-ons!

Thank you once again for an exhaustive video. Quick response to your concluding question: Yes. Gutenberg, despite the pains of infancy, is a worthwhile route that WP has taken. Most importantly, it has come in the way of an ever increasing monopoly of the page builders while reducing WP to its bare bones. Kindly, keep posting road signs for us.

The more I learn about Gutenberg the more I like it. I think it's a long overdue change/update adapting WordPress to modern needs and introducing more modular/interchangeable approach to traditional components of CMS.

Great video, as usual, WPT. One thing that I'm really struggling to find is a means to put a border around a block. Also, if using columns, a means to put a short black line between them so it looks clear and tidy. Did you ever discover these on your block assessments? Thanks.

I have spent hours digging and trying out the Classic. When I found out Bluehost had installed the latest WordPress I switched to blocks and have found them to be so much easier... for a newby... that's my choice.

Is it possible to schedule blocks on a page. For example, a series of videos that will be coming out, I want to schedule when each video appears on a specific page, ultimately with 50 videos listed, so someone could see what is there and click on it? Thanks for your help.

Great tutorial, however, when I added Atomic Blocks to set up a post page it stretched my images on the posts when switched to single column. Why?

Hi! First off i wanna say i LOVE your channel! I have started my own company and built my webshop from knowing NOTHING at all about this, using wordpress, oceanwp and elementor! I have spent about 700 hours working on one page. step by step while watching all of your amazing videos! However, i have ran into a couple problems along the way, a few things that is now giving me a headache! and im sure there is a plugin, or a easy fix of them, but with using youtube, google and forums i have found NOTHING about how to fix/set up these things. Is is somehow possible to get in touch with you for a quick chat? Maybe you can advice me or point me in the right direction or something... Please spare a few min to help me out?

I have tried different blocks add-on’s, but I can’t find a block where I can adjust the border size and color ... why is it so difficult to add a border around a block? Can you help me?

I hate the Gutenberg layout. It doesn't allow you to add an image slider.

I'm sure this is something that will be added before too long. There are many companies developing new Blocks for Gutenberg.

Good video! WordPress needs a capital P in the video title.

Thanks for the video again Paul. Caxton from Jamie and the Pootlepress team have bought out Caxton that looks quite lush: vimeo.com/292544743

Nice find with Caxton. I'll check that one out. Sadly, it all feels so old hat compared to the flexibility on offer with current page builders. Even if you only looked at options like Brizy, which is still very new. It far exceeds what's on offer with Gutenberg.

Paul it doesn’t MATTER what we think of Gutenburg. As you said, we have no choice.
@WPTuts6 жыл бұрын
Hopefully we'll get the options to still use page builders like Elementor, etc. once it's actually released. It would be better if they left it as an optional plugin that can be ignored, that would be great. Sadly I don't think that will happen.. There are also options being developed to build a fork of WordPress without Gutenberg. So, I think there will be options moving forward.

There is now a plugin to use the classic editor if people want to use it instead of blocks :)
