Because the prescription opioid "crisis" forces people with chronic pain into the street for relief, then end up with something with fentanyl in it, fentanyl killed my sister and because of serious injury I live with terrible chronic pain and my Dr was forced to scale down my prescription and I get NO relief, chronic pain WILL change who you are, I'm angry now a lot, SO sad!!!

Im getting their with my leg, everyday i can feel myself getting angry more and more so I just distance myself, because i dont want others to misunderstand me. I refuse to be medicated with prescription meds, it takes strength. My brother OD'd on fentanyl, so my heart goes out to you. Thank you, thank you thank you. I've been treated for chronic pain related to neuromuscular disease for 25 years. Over that time it's been increasingly difficult to get medication. I've gone through opiate withdrawal 3 times this years because I couldn't get my meds. And, every new doctor sees me first as a criminal. I’ve dealt with severe pain from an issue in my head for twenty years. Last year, NY made a law punishing law abiding people who use pain meds responsibly and safely, and they drastically cut the amount of meds providers were allowed to prescribe them. This did absolutely nothing to stop illegal drug use….it’s so frustrating to not be able to get what I need to have a decent standard of life when I’ve done nothing wrong.

I was on Oxy for years for horrendous pain. It allowed me to live a normal existence. Then they Feds targeted it and harassed every doctor over prescribing it. UofP even closed their pain research department. I had to go off it when even pharmacies refused to carry it. Today I am severely crippled by the pain and immobilized. Thanks so much mainstream media and Feds. What a wonderful accomplishment.

The mixing of prescription drugs and illegal drugs is an issue, not a small one, your comment is bias/not based on facts. An even bigger issue is the mixing of alcohol with prescription drugs, and toxicity reports prove it. Ive had many surgeries, pain pills, and all those other things they put you on are not the answer. I suggest going to a state that allows cannabis use and using that. The prescription drugs are great for post surgery but after being torn apart 5 times, Im finally living life the way I should, NOT on those drugs they recommend.

I suffer from high anxiety as well as depression. They make meds for such a thing but Ive never taken them. I smoke Marijuana and that seems to clear it all up. It's cheap and I trust it a lot more than big pharma. I use it responsibly never on the job, there is a time and a place to partake in such a thing. Now with it becoming legal I don't have to be shady about getting it. I'll walk right into a store and buy it. I'm unvaccinated Ive never like taking pills unless I have an unbearable Migraine The only thing I use as far as drugs go is just Marijuana.

The story of Jesse Ventura's wife comes to mind where a few drops of medical grade Marijuana a day cured her epileptic seizures that were occurring like 3-4x a week and violently. Scary stuff. None of the big pharma meds worked. They tried four of them. They go to Colorado and get the drops, and voila. She quickly becomes normalized again. So hell with it. If it makes people feel better, and they want to do it responsibly, go for it is what I say. The only beef I have with it, is with dumbass potheads who smoke it in apartment buildings for kicks, forcing all their neighbors to smell that nasty odor. That's so annoying and not good for anybody. But at that point it's no different than the assholes who smoke cigs in the same situation.

Yup. Every time I go to my back doctor, I get treated like a criminal. They count my pills, won't prescribe me the stuff that ACTUALLY works, only the stuff that makes me throw up, and I have to fill out stupid form after stupid form about my personal life. Questions like how many arguments I've gotten in and if I've ever stolen from a family member. Every month I have to go through that, just to get my medication. Fentanyl is a LOT more potent than morphine. It is 50 to 100 times more potent for the same dose. That is where an accidental overdose becomes so dangerous. The people making these drugs don't care about precision, so adding "a bit" more can be the difference between a high and a fatal overdose.

@@Moon..Shadow she's 94. At a pain clinic you have to go every month to get a refill and take a drug test while having your meds counted. Why? Why must you be treated like a criminal or a child? Why can't you take less one day (if in less pain) or more (if in more pain)? You know what you need better than they do when you have pain constantly. You don't get your cholesterol meds counted. You don't need a test to see if you take your sleeping pills every 24hrs. This isn't about your health when they give you meds with 45 side effects, and 12 of those are deadly, without any trouble. It's about controlling your life and quit possibly "thinning the herd".

Although you didn't mention the cause of her pain,, you might want to look into alternatives for her. Local health food shop, if you have any around, can suggest many things. LDN (low dose naltrexone) from a compounding pharmacist may be very helpful and is very safe and nonaddictive. What you eat (and dont) can make a big difference. Some foods increase pain,, some can decrease it.Protease enzymes like bromelain (pineapple) or papain (pineapple) can make a big difference depending on the type of pain. Curcumin formulas too. Maybe even some consults with a health coach would help. Nobody "has" to be in ,pain and there are other ways to deal with it other than drugs. Best of all,, is to address the root cause of course,, if that's possible. I hope you can find some things to help her have the best quality of life and be around as long as she can.

This strikes a cord hard core with me. My cousin just passed away from a fentanyl overdose. Nov. 13 is his Celebration of Life. Holidays are going to be hard because he was the one that could put a smile on anyone's face at any time; just by his smile will make you smile. He will be forever missed and I pray that God forgives him of the his transgressions with the demons that captured and bound him. He would do anything to help anyone at any time. It was an honor to have him as a cousin and to grow up with such a wonderful guy, regardless of his addictions. Drugs are definitely no joke. I thank God that I am still breathing and alive, and didn't end up like my cousin. 12 years, and counting, sober. God bless whoever reads this. Physicians are now limited in their ability to give suffering patients the pain medication they need. A few months ago, after surgery, I was in severe pain, yet was prescribed only a small amount of Rx pain relievers. I am no longer in pain, but it was cruel to force me to suffer because some other people abuse pain medications.

@Joe B iden There was indeed a problem. Maybe some unscrupulous physicians were prescribing to anyone who would pay. I think it was those so-called patients who would then sell the drugs. A good doctor knows his or her patient, knows the circumstances that lead to severe pain, and also knows that patients have different experiences with pain. Also, a good physician keeps good documentation. I've heard of certain pain clinics that were handing out opiods like candy. I have a high pain tolerance, but truly severe pain isn't alleviated by over-the-counter painkillers. Those who truly need the medicine don't get them because of the abuse by others.

I've seen this up close and it's horrible. Obama changed medical school curriculum to train doctors to assume all patients are drug seeking addicts. I never see young doctors, and I've had some success with older more pragmatic ones - if you go to a private doc who doesn't take insurance - and doesn't have to answer to an HMO - you might find one who isn't paranoid about losing his license. Where did he get statistics that most of the "homeless are not there because of drugs (and/or alcohol) addiction and it's just "popular" to say they are? Clearly he is out of touch. I'm a chronic pain patient and sadly I've been at too many funerals of friends that were kicked off of their chronic pain medications and had to turn to the streets for pain control. So instead of having controlled care followed by a doctor they were at the mercy of whatever drugs the dealer had available and what the drugs were cut with. We need to stop stigmatizing chronic pain medications and pain control. I don't think drugs should be legalized but we to stop limiting pain medications for legitimate reasons. I mean the pain is not eliminated just because a politician says a patient no longer qualifies for pain control. Let's just let doctor's be doctors and get politicians out of our medical care.

Thank you for the time you gave to CPP (chronic pain patients). I wish it was a little more about our fight to have better quality of life. What the CDC guidelines have done to CPP is horrendous. I have been a chronic pain sufferer for 21 years and it's something you wouldn't wish on your best enemy. I would be happy to give it to this administration though. LOL Please consider having actually pain sufferers on your show.

Especially a vvaaxxinnee they started working on before that's right before the pandemic for a crisis they created. So basically the pandemic is over right? Remember now only a couple kids with serious health issues to begin with would even die from it's a out of a thousand or so, and with the original variant already long gone which is what the vaccine is based on so really has no efficacy in regards to the variance that are out now and it mutates every 10 hours of every day of every week of every month your natural immunity is over 10 times better plus once there cocktail gets in you and the new variant get in there it will actually work to help it cuz it won't recognize it because of the way virology works if you done a lot of research and and got a lot of knowledge of it like I have is kind of hard sometimes to just break it down in a little paragraph but you got to ask yourself why why why are they trying to force the vax 2 every single School child and something tells me that if you have a baby when it hits a certain age they're going to try to force it on that child even if it's 5 or 10 years down the road this should smell like rotten sulfuric Darkness anyone who has any Common Sense this is not make sense what they're doing unless there's a hidden reason for everybody to be vaxxxxxxed.

Not all people are drug addicts. Unfortunately my son fractured his vertebrae while in the army of which they told him his pain was all in his head. After being discharged he researched doctors and found the true reason for his intense pain and it wasn't all in his head at all. After surgery he was not able to get any relief from the pain because doctors would not prescribe pain killers for him. He suffered tremendously too. Aspirin does not relieve that type of pain at all. That's just a bunch of crap. Tylenol can damage your liver if taken too often. He found out the hard way.
