Likely just a time signature thing. Slow airs are usually written in 6/8

Beautiful slow air for sure...suggestion for the double dotted crotchet if I may; can that bar be replaced with a crochet, dotted quaver beamed with a semi quaver, crochet, then tie the first crochet with the dotted quaver?
