Crazy that IBJJF allows one competitor to fight like hell at not fighting.

@@Gustavo_Rodrigues19 he wasn’t stalling. He kept moving and eventually got out. Barbosa stayed at leg lock for the remainder of the fight.

@@Gustavo_Rodrigues19 LMAO. Andrew could be 10 points ahead and would still keep the pressure. He is always working.

Just stalling that is unsporting. Knows he wouldn't win so stalls. In mma this wouldn't work, he would get his face punched in and have to let go. They should ban these stalling tactics.

Typical brazilian style of jiu jitsu. Snooze fest, so sad that even an aggressive and explosive elite fighter like Andrew can be stalled. Thank god the rest of the world does jiu jitsu now as well can you imagine if the rest of the world did jiu jitsu like Barbosa.

You're just butthurt your boy lost. Don't be imature like this. Andrew himself accepted his defeat.

Stalling the whole time , typical brazilian style
@VijayKumar-dn4pz3 жыл бұрын
They are tiring out an opponent whose style revolves around movement. They are cooking the opponent until they are ready to be passed, swept or submitted. You want 6 minutes of non stop jumping around? That's not Jiujitsu.
@eddys.razorxp64453 жыл бұрын
50/50 has to be negatively penalized you cant move or do anything its simply to stop the other guy from winning it is absolutely horrible.

Dude is probably atypical Brazilian bjj Fighter : Probably doesn't even know anything besides bjj... So, he got a position in a top player and stalled... Well, you can even hear the corner saying : "you don't have time to being punished one more time"... basically... He assumes he can't win the fight otherwise.

People forget, Jiu-Jitsu is the art of stalling, slowing down the fighter and conserving your energy is one of the tenants of JJ. Guy played a smart game, Andrew pulled so he passed into side control, got 3 points, got swept. Rather than risking the win he locked in a super tight 50/50 with lapel to seal the win. It might not be exciting to the average guy but it is the sweet science. I am huge fan of Andrew, and for this guy to beat him means he is really good.

You can’t call someone better if he needs to stall so that he wins
@blazingfire3603 жыл бұрын
totally disagree. the art of jiu jitsu is being able to control and submit an opponent, without them being able to submit or cause damage to you. this is some sport bullshit, nothing true to the real art in my opinion.

Yeah u almost seem another biased brazilian defending another brazilian just for the sake of it. Disappointing fight, if they met again, Andrew would probaly win it. Just look where Andrew is right now WNO and where is barbosa? Nobody knows and people also don't seem to care

The sweet science of holding a position that would allow your opponent to punch you in the face for 5 minutes straight.
@eddys.razorxp64453 жыл бұрын
Where did you learn that? Jiujitsu was developed to win a fight with no rules. This has rules that not only suck but reward the more out of shape and less technical guys. In wrestling if you take 2 steps backwards you are warned for stalling then point penalized then disqualified. This was disgusting and pathetic its why no one watches or really participates anymore.
