I used /togglez at the beginning to skip the digging process, as it remains unchanged by the Copenhagen update.
It's definitely become much more RNG-dependent now when you return to the lighthouse. Use crucifix if you get bad luck.
Player stragglers will probably mess you up.

by the way you will have to kill all the zombies after digging up the snow or they will force you to use crucifix when leaving the lighthouse and make it harder to use crucifix if you get put in a bad situation

Is there any difference in spawns with hardcore? If not, this does make vardohus slightly more difficult now.

Hardcore will increase zombie damage and most worryingly shambler hp, so if a shambler gets unstuck from the cannon platform early its harder to dispatch.
