This is the night my parents first met at a NYE ‘62-‘63 dance in Queens, NY! Dad died last year, and mom’s Alzheimer’s is progressing all the time. Tonight, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the night they met, we all listened to this and watched Guy Lombardo on KZbin, instead of the regular network programming. OMG, we forgot how much we all missed this! Might have to make it an annual tradition! Thank you so much for posting this!

Thank you for posting this! My father, John (Jack) Kramer played the tuba for The Lombardo band, you can hear him quite clearly on this recording. It’s so wonderful to hear him, this was well before I was born, so to have a clearer picture of his musical career is something to cherish.

I had the chance to chat with your Dad many times several years ago. He told me very valuable information concerning the GL Band. He told me he played on 3 Lombardo albums. It was a pleasure to chat with him.

Your dad was excellent on tuba, the old timers called it a recording bass. Lombardo stuck fast notf a string but a tuba, it gave them that old traditional sound from the 20s

@@RobloxMaster642 "Sing A Song" came out after Guy passed away and was featured on one of the Bill Lombardo NYE shows. Lebert takes a Trumpet solo and it's a Dewey Bergman arrangement. Great chart. John Anthony sang it. I believe the video is on KZbin.

@@royalvirginians I still remember when Maddox had uploaded audio of Guy Lombardo's 1967-68 TV broadcast you had commented that you yourself had audio of the full show and that you said your audio wasn't as good as his. This is not really my type of music and 1963 was two years before I was born..............but dagnab it - I actually enjoyed this. It reminded me of when my grandpa used to play these songs on his electric organ back when I was a little kid.

Guy Lombardo once said, "When I die, I'm taking New Year's Eve with me!" He sure did! NYE entertainment has been nothing but noise since Guy left us.
