@FrappeInsider Жыл бұрын
@@holdenbrowning7200 Some people have more specific fears, like the restraints, heights, safe operations, maintenance, and some have more broad fears, like just being afraid of riding them in general. Nothing specific, literally just being on one. If you have that kind of fear, where you are scared of them in general, you should try riding one yourself. That's what worked for me. You will either get addicted to coasters, be neutral with coasters, or be terrified of them and never ride one again. It just depends on the person. For me, I became EXTREMELY addicted to them. JUST MAKE SURE THE RIDE YOU TRY AS YOUR FIRST REAL COASTER IS NOT A ROUGH ONE, like how rough mine blower is. Try something not too rough but still considered a REAL coaster. if you never try a real coaster you will NEVER get over this fear. Even if you ride kiddie coasters or more small coasters. It has to be a real ride. The coaster that set off my addiction was Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa. Although, I was comfortable riding things like Cheetah Hunt, but I would never be able to do things like Kumba or Montu. This was years ago. Once I did Montu, I could never not ride a coaster again.

I used to be deathly afraid of roller coasters despite never riding any. One day at Hershey Park, I was about 17 and decided to finally ride a rollercoaster. I wanted to experience it finally and conquer my fears, even if I passed out I told myself. I was also with a group of friends at Hershey Park for the day for the first time since I was a little kid, and didn’t want to chicken out. So I was socially pressured as well. Needless to say, I did not regret it. One of the best times I ever had. Although admittedly I kept screaming and getting close to passing out, but I tried skyrush for the first time. The tallest one in the park. Now I love roller coasters, the anxiety building up before the drop and the drop itself is so fun😭

To me, the worst part about roller coasters is the slow and intimidating climb. That's the only time I'm worried about potential injury. After that, the sensory overload combined with the fun I'm having make the initial fear worth it. 😄
@sumisu_senpai_6280 Жыл бұрын
Yeah exactly, once you're going down the drop, the fear mostly evaporates. At least it does for me
@StormyWeather_2005 Жыл бұрын
Also the loops. I'm terrified of the loops which is why I never go on roller coasters like that.
@LuckyCharms777 Жыл бұрын
Exactly. I’m afraid of heights so I was terrified on one of those rope swings that holds two people in a harness, when it took forever to bring you up to the height before dropping, I nearly squeezed my buddy’s arm off (lol), but once the drop came it was exhilarating.
@cwehden10 ай бұрын
Hyperion lift hill is really fast, you pull out of loading and think 'well at least I have the climb to delay the inevitable' it feels like you fly up that lift hill so fast and then it just throws you off, it's also next to the entrance so often the first ride of the day, this coaster is a MONSTER.

the idea of going on a ride where you go upside down but not being in one of those locking mechanisms that go over your shoulders is so terrifying, I could never go on that
@puffcatco11 ай бұрын
I will say, the safety of a lap bar harness might be safer than an over the shoulder harness.
@Eli.40011 ай бұрын
This ride dose not actually go upside down, but it almost does.
@pingucraft958 ай бұрын
@@puffcatcothought about that recently, without an addditional seat belt on the front, wouldn't it be easier to slide out of an over-the-shoulder-restraint than a lap bar? Still near impossible probably, but still...I went on the new vekoma stc at tripsdrill recently and felt absolutely fused to my seat with that Ergonomic lap bar and bucket seat...
@puffcatco7 ай бұрын
@@pingucraft95 I do agree on that sentiment, as over the shoulder restraints hold you in merely by your shoulders. with a lap bar, your body is "folded in half" making it impossible to fall out. now, I'm not saying that falling out of a rollercoaster with otsrs is a likely occurance, but in theory it should be easier to slip through the harness.

The ride of this name is “Hyperion” and it’s in energylandia in Poland home to the biggest roller coaster park in Europe. I have went on this ride and it was fun I love the details that’s given on this ride when you walk by. The way it drops was the feeling when I started to feel my stomach but I gotta give this guy credit for showing his braveness and courage to go on this ride.

during moments like these, you must let go, and accept what is coming to you. it makes it alot easier. yes you will feel the adrenaline rush over your body, but if you're not tense, you feel it alot less. I want to ride hyperion so bad, it seems like such an amazing attraction. I find this man very brave for entering the ride, despite the fact that he seemed so incredibly affraid to get on hyperion. not everyone is made for an intense artificial flying experience, and that's perfectly fine.

Dude, telling people with fear to 'let go' is like telling a dog to meow
@singingchristian2 жыл бұрын
I can try my very hardest to accept and let go. But i have no control of my fear whatsoever. Even when ai go on a ride I want to it’s like I cannot control my reaction no matter how much i try. I even talk myself through it like “it will be easier if i relax my body” yet by the end i’m always sobbing and hyperventilating. Which is why i now tell people it’s just not fun for anyone for me to join them.

Wow! I respect this young man, because he was at least brave enough to face his fears. I like people who have a gutsy attitude in facing their fears. However, I can’t believe that he was still passing out near the end of the ride when it’s not even scary anymore.

I have nervous system damage from chronic anxiety. I don't have to be feeling anxious in the moment in order for symptoms to happen. My fight-or-flight response just gets activated randomly. And physical reactions to fright can be delayed. Who knows what his medical history is like?

@@screwyourhandle I suffer with something very similar. It's possible it may not be nervous system damage. It may be conditioning and your brain is used to reacting a certain way because that's all it has done its whole life. If that's the case, you can recondition your brain's response over time. I've found that therapy helps with that. This is just my own experience that I wanted to share. I hope you're doing okay.
