Two top blokes. I have enormous respect for Chris Hoy, even as an Aussie who saw him take medals away from our athletes over the years. Hard working, humble and just an all round good fella. Guy's a legend too.

Guy Martin is the man. Famous & probably decently wealthy but just a normal guy who continually pushes and challenges himself. What’s more, he is total humble and free of pomposity, pretension, or anything ostentatious when he could be cocky and full of himself like someone such as Connor MacGregor, Floyd Mayweather, etc .

it's definitely scary doing it on a free-weight machine, the one you see Chris doing in the pictures. You're pushing yourself to the point where your legs are shaking and about to buckle whilst there's quite a way until all of the weight your pushing against stops if you do buckle

@@Daz555Daz I would say Pendleton was the greatest female track cyclist ever. She just didn't have the opportunity to win so many Olympic medals as the females had fewer medals to go for than the men. She would be up there with Sir Chris had she had them to go for.

@@Daz555Daz I disagree, but I take your point Pendleton only didn't do so well, due to a lack of medals available to her at the Olympics. Trott has benefitted due to changes in the medals. Trott is also amazing btw and we are both splitting hairs here I know.

@@Desmo904 its a hydro foil.... the extra power from a real cyclist will over come any extra weight. as you can see from the video guy didnt have the endurance and strength to get it out the water.

15yrs ago I snapped my tib n fib right at the ankle in a motorbike crash, my knee hit the back end of a car that U-turned infront of me, it pushed my leg back back and bent my foot up on the peg which also snapped the peg off with the force, and now I have the same problem that my heel comes off the ground in a low squat, I didnt have a stack of screws in like Guy though, the temp cast they put on had managed to hold the bones in a good place, so they left it on.

it's defo ankle mobility when the heel lifts -- with some work you be able to get some range back -- try doing a wider stance box squat with a bench inside the rack -- * the bench placed the long ways *

@@sherrykunkle1776 Ive done a fair amount of gym work on and off since, but its not changed, even on the seated leg press it comes off the plate, and thats with 225kg on, but not tried wide box squats, will give them a go tomorrow morning in the gym, not easy to do free weights where I go solo as its a leisure center, most folk there use the treadmill and wouldnt be able to help if all goes pete tong, thanx for the tip :)

Likely shortened muscle and ligaments, they can be lengthened, also deep tissue work break up scar tissue, unless the joint is mechanically restricted soft tissue restrictions can be undone but it takes time

@@DG-EditsYT That's what I was hoping, I've done a lot of stretching on it standing on the edge of a step, but it get very painful so I stop, tbf I haven't been back for xrays or scans after I realised the restriction, the physio guy just gave me the stretches and never recommended a scan so I just kinda lived with it instead.

@@0kojack0 Yep, a proper work horse can in theory be up to 25 horsepower but easily sustain 15hp when they're working all day. Horsepower has never really been the power of a single horse, it's a very odd measurement. Wattage is far simpler

Someone really messed up the script there. That force would be excess of 1 ton on the pedals. Per leg. He would tow the olympic stadium with that torque. edit: or Ferrari is really good at marketing

Most cyclist can produce more torque than a family car, the difference is that a car engine can do 7-8000 rpm and a cyclist can only do 140-150rpm... That's where the power difference is.
