This reminds of a another group that sort of went through the same thing this groups manager was the co founder of their record label in which the other guy was executive producer and part of the group, that group released a compilation album back in 1987 follow by a full length the following year and that album went platinum, while that was happening some of the group members felt like that they weren’t getting paid and their executive producer who is part of the group was life in luxury with a big house and nice cars, the group’s manager came with some paperwork that had their contracts sign these contracts and y’all will get your money 3 of the guys signed while 4th member holdout until he gets a lawyer to look at it, for some reason the manager was reluctant to do so, it went on for some time until the 4th member left the group and made a for himself.

That's like Montrell Darrett, was in Commissioned and his voice is all over the Matters of the Heart album with him and Marvin Sapp singing lead, but he's not on the album cover and didn't perform with them when the album was released. I can't find ANYTHING online why that happened. If you could find that out that would be great

Gene Griffin ran shot gun over the guys. Remember they were young and in all fairness did not know how to handle being controlled by Gene and his actions to take over the group because he probably saw the potential to make money off them just a guess on my behalf. Timmy was measured in how he handled business and did not want to sign a contract with Gene without showing it to a lawyer. Aaron and Teddy did not have enough edge to deal with a personality like Gene. Hence Timmy was left out. Glad Timmy got his deserved royalties. Gene of course had his name all over the projects to get writer's credit which was an old music move by unsavory manager and executives. Griffen had run in with Keith Sweat and Andre Harrell but not with the same results. They stood up to him.

I won’t say rip-off Like Timmy said he wanted Guy to be a fresh out the box Gap Band (take the old make it new as he said) But Merry Go Round & Round Of Love is a total rip-off Gap Band song which Gene, Teddy and Aaron wrote this song. Yes, Gene was a big gap band fan so he pressured the label for this song to be 2nd single.
