Guyana: Pomeroon River Oakland Back Dam January 2020

My family settled on the Pomeroon in 1887. Martina Agnes Da Silva (my mother) was born July 7, 1932 at Oakland where my grandfather Domingo (Dode) Da Silva farmed across the river from Martindale School. Anytime I visit Guyana I stop to say hello to David Cornelius. David was 80 when I visited in Jan 2020. As usual I found him in the back dam working.

Thanks so much for this video Gregory. David is the uncle of my two older sons. I have not seen him since we were both very young men. I have been to Oakland but how much it has changed since then.

I am so glad you got to see the video. I have visited David 4 times. He is a wonderful, faithful person. My mother is a little older than David but she remembers his family well.
