I'm happy the period blame was brought up and that the guys responded so well. You said its like a juvenile thing to blame a girl's mood on their period, but I get those comments most from my dad, so it's actually more common place than you might think, and definitely not exclusive to teenagers. i think the main takeaway, it's the small things that matters. to add into that would be the things you does on a daily basis, rather than based on occasions only. i feel many people are too into the 'milestones' and 'events' (e.g. 100 days, valentine's day, etc.) rather than doing it because the other person is special to you.
