That is cool that it ramps up, but that is way too much for me want to even try. I enjoyed TBC and Wrath level of challenge. Kind of hard but not overly hard or complex. But also, I am over 40 if I want something to frustrate me, I will deal with the real world.

@@DubhghlasMacDubhghlas The "easier" raid contents are actually fairly balanced to be simple yet hard to _perfectly_ master, so there's also at least a bit of difficulty without overstaying it's welcome. This MMO also has rest bonus systems so you can easily catch up if you only play like a few days for a few hours, every week. Also there's the usual new endgame content nerfs too, as in when newer content comes out, older harder content gets nerfed a bit so that more people can actually progress faster to newer content, so you don't need to worry too much about it :)

@@DubhghlasMacDubhghlas The devs wanted to create something different, they wanted to show their talent in making cool raids, there's also of course the problem of needing to catering to the hardcore playerbase that's starting to become bored, hence why this 4th final boss raid(Legion) was made like this. I really meant it when I said this is content that's far away for the NA/EU version... Obviously it goes without saying, that it feels even more complex when you haven't played the game for over a year yet :P And honestly this game has so much other content that it's fine to not always try to be the best in gearing/ilvl etc. Matter of fact most of the content are not even created *_for_* the max tier gear level anyway lol, eg. Max gear upgrade is +25, but even this new hardest raid is only made for +21 etc., it's even lower for older contents(+15~20). The game does not actively push you to have the best gear, as gear means nothing if you fuck up mechanics or dodge...

Unless it is normal to struggle with soloing the 9th mandatory boss in an MMO due to the boss moving around so much and having either large hitboxes that he rarely uses or fast attacks that force you to move or die, I can say the game does ramp up to this level of craziness. I’m debating whether or not I want to go back to the salt dungeon to get the better loot, or just continue with what I got.

Here are some of the combat mechanics of Lost Ark and how they work in raids. Skills in Lost Ark can come with various attributes. - Neutralization (Impairment in NA/EU server) Skills that have this attribute can be used to deplete neutralization bar (displayed below HP bar) of some bosses. When the bar is completely depleted, the boss become stunned for several seconds, allowing the raid party to focus fire for massive damage. Some skill can have tripod settings that increase damage against a stunned enemy. Some Raid bosses are immune to stun effect (the neutralization bar is locked, meaning it can't be stunned), but they can have certain mechanics that requires "neutralization check." This is often when the boss is trying to cast a (potentially) raid wipe attack/spell. An orange bar will appear on the boss and the raid party has to use skills with neutralization attribute in set amount of time to prevent this attack. Failures often lead to raid wipe. - Counter Skills that have this attribute can be used to 'counter' some bosses's attack. Most of the bosses in Lost Ark have counterable moves (visually noticeable with blue glow) that, if successfully countered, immediately stuns the boss for a couple of seconds. In raid, some bosses have mechanics that require "counter check," meaning a member of the raid party has to successfully counter the boss's move. Failures often lead to raid wipe. - (Part)Destruction Skills that have this attribute can be used to "break" certain part of some bosses. Usually this result in various effect, such as considerably lowering the boss's defense (this type of boss usually has very high defense stat to begin with) or disabling certain attack patterns. Some tripod (skill modification) option can change these attributes, either enhancing existing attribute or granting an attribute to a skill that originally has no such characteristic.

@@rudy1999 it was either rose tinted glasses, or the stories they heard about how next to no one did naxx, and most players never got raid gear. They were ignoring how casual people was during vanilla days and did not know strats or good builds for their class. Some, people say the info was not out their, there was some info at least with builds, just not well known. Thotbot, and wowhead existed then.

One of the reason mythic raids are difficult in WoW is that you need to manage 20+ people just to operate. Then you have to get all 20 to perform flawlessly on the harder fights, sometimes for 10+ minutes per attempt. Mythic Sylvanas is an example of a long, tedious, overturned fight with a horrible phase 1 that makes deeper prog inconsistent. Painsmith was rough for most guilds and destroyed many, but at least that fight was relatively short and fun.

I am 40 years old... do you think I want to a boss fight that last 25 mins if you do it right, let alone deal with raid wipe mechanics, which means I require someone else to do it prefect also? Hell no I am not the type wanted to play Darksouls. But I would not want canceled, but there is a reason why it was not breaking most played game. Yeah, shame on me not wanting to have memorize laundry list of tasks for one fight. Maybe my idea of fun does not fall into Stupidly Hard for no damn reason.

It's honestly mostly just this 4th final boss raid that's mechanically insane...something the AGS servers won't get for at least a year after launch(2023). But yeah _generally_ in Lost Ark mechanics is king...also you don't buy this game it's F2P...unless you meant the Founders pack? 🤔

By the time you grind your character to be able to challenge this raid, you would have gotten used to the combat style of LA. There is also an option that allows you to turn off all other 'non-essential' visual effects (other players except for support) so you only see your own skill effects and enemies'

Of course lost ark is much harder than any classic WoW bosses. But that is not a good comparison, because MC classic bosses have max two mechanics. Even going for a walk is harder than raiding in classic. I actually don't think lost ark is harder than current mythic bosses in WoW. Here are my reasons: 1) It seems like in lost Ark you can fully concentrate on the mechanics and after that go back to do damage. In WoW mythic raiding you have to do maximum dps and healing while also doing the mechanics. Also doing optimal damage and healing is much harder in WoW. In lost ark many classes just press their skills on cooldown to do near perfect damage. 2) The difficulty does not come from the amount of mechanics, but from the amount of mechanics you have to do at the same time. It is noch difficult to do 50 different things one after another. But healing your group while dodging fire, collecting orbs and using defensive cooldowns the same time, THAT is hard.

I guess everyone has their own opinions. One of the best raids I've ever seen thus far and Lost Ark has some of the most amazing raids/dungeons in any mmo, in my opinion. These end game content are part of the reason why it's the #1 MMO in Korea, competing against many other great well known mmos.
