There is a LOT of information to go over when it comes to how to gear your heros for GVG and there is a ton of nuance but I hope that this broadstrokes guide helps you get started! Forgive the text edits, but it was hard to remember everything and I wanted to include everything that I could think of!

Ageless wrath is the best bp set because its the only one of the three top sets that applies a 'bonus' in the gear screen.

Either I misunderstood or you explained the Infernal Roar and Soulbound Arcana sets a bit incorrectly: SA: DMG goes up by 10% after the Ult has been used and can stack up to 50%. This does not however only affect Ult dmg. It's every type of dmg the hero deals. IR: Auto attack dmg goes up 40%. This also includes Ultimates that are based on Basic attacks such as Idril, Sargak and many more. This means, the decision of which set is mostly built around the fact whether a Ult is just making the hero's basic attack better or if it is its own attack move. Hope that was understandable, great video as always!

@@viggs5912 Yup! Slip of the tongue there on SA - you’re right it’s after ult not during. As for IR most heroes ultimates are an increase on basic damage even if it includes something else so I still find that if a hero is going to be ulting a lot then SA is the best and if not then IR works better

Hi Slate, 1st and foremost many thx for the good, well structured guide. But i have 2 questions. I specialized on Marri as crowd control over the last couple of month and try to get her better and better. Atm i play at "Horde" guild. When it comes to bringing all you can out of Marri: 1. Why you dont advice or use "Foliant ..." as an artifcat for her? 2. Why you only have round 15% Rage Regen on her, cause i drive her with arround 600 Speed and round 150% Rage Regen at same time? regards, Alex

@@elicandravaleriadarocha6311 Hey, as I said in the video, I haven’t found any seeding for forging gear or artifacts unfortunately. And I feel exactly the same, it’s super rare to even get a halfway decent forged piece but think that’s just because we’re doing batches of 10 so it feels worse than when you’re farming

8:50 Re: Invig - I've seen others say that placement order gets recognized, but personally no matter what my placement order (or I believe I've also tested left-right team order, which I've seen affect some other things in GvG) it seems to always place it on a particular hero. E.g. for my Nightmare team I would *love* for it to get placed on my Hatssut, but for whatever reason it always goes on to Baron. Which, obviously, is not really what I'm going for. Edit: And because I can't test my own defense (at least not without an alt or someone willing to lend me their account), there's no way I can quickly run through all of the variations myself. I mostly just try a variation and then see the invig goes on Baron every time when people attack me.

When gearing for BP, I find it helpful to restart the client before affiliating demon soldiers. Sometimes, I get weird results if I don't restart. Soulbound Arcana is the premier DPS set. A larger bonus, that applies to all damage sources, and currently is overtuned. SA currently counts all ults on the team, not just the wearer's. But it's unrealistic to have that many good sets, so we substitute IR where necessary

Thats only half true. Yes SA stacks with every units ult, but the percentages are getiing calculated different. So on some units like Sylas IR is just better.

You haven't covered the most important thing :D Does it matter if you unequip heroes or switch gear after it gets "locked in" - when the battle starts. I noticed that even if the heroes don't have any gear after the "lock in", the BP stays the same. If it matters, what happens if for example you forget to gear some of your heroes before the fight starts, you have really low BP, but then you put gear on them. The BP obviously doesn't change, but doesn't the gear equip help in any way? This part is really confusing

You have to have them geared an hr before reset and then they are locked, if you didn’t gear them they will be ungeared for that whole war And after the war starts you can take their gear off and it won’t change for that war

@@93xDmario Exactly what @dakodaarmstrong98 said. You need to make sure your gear is on before the matching starts otherwise they have no gear on for the duration of that war. Changing gear midway doesn’t seem to have any affect but this could easily change with a patch so leave it on to be safe

@@Slate_Gaming thank you both, can't really leave it on, have only so many good sets, need to have arena team equipped, swap for GB and then various...gear dungeon, raid, etc runs.
