I haven't been able to stop playing this game. It makes me feel like I'm a kid that just discovered final fantasy for the first time all over again. It's amazing.

Romancing Saga 2 is a great classic game. If you haven't played it, you really should. My personal favorite is actually Romancing Saga 3, so I've got my fingers crossed that they'd decide to remake 3 as well if 2 sells well.

I'm currently playing through Trials of Mana, which itself is a remake of a 2D game, and thought this looked familiar. Just looked it up, yup! Same devs! Very cool that Square seemingly have a dedicated studio for this kind of stuff.

They're really underrated imo, check out the Pixel Remastered version of 3 (also on Switch) after you play this remake of 2, it's real good

Originally when I played the demo, I thought it was good, but would wait for a sale. It sat well with me and the glowing reviews had me order it day 1. I’m excited to see what the rest of the game has to offer!

This remake was phenomenal! The original game was ahead of its time form something that came out in 1993, but RotS just took it to new heights. It's a decent challenge, the environments are gorgeous, combat is really satisfying, the QoL changes are impressive, and they kept most of the content from the remaster a few years ago, and still added some more content on top of that. I said this with Minstrel Song, but this is a shining example of what every remake should be!

I'm a veteran of the original game (and the entire series) and actually had a bit of a challenging start on Hard Mode (even knowing what to expect), but after some work, I got to the point where I was mopping the floor with most enemies and bosses. After doing the post-game content, lo and behold New Game+ and two new difficulties unlocked! Time to see how badly I regret playing in those...

For what it's worth Derrick, you or any of the other GVG crew, could put the "AD" tag on a video and I'm still going to want to hear your thoughts and opinions on them! Whether you like something or not, you're all incredibly good at expressing those opinion, regardless if it's major gameplay mechanics or lil technical stuff. It's what make you all an easy first choice for any review/preview that you all do! :D
