when a chassis extension is done, is the rear axle moved back so that it is centered for when a canopy is added on, so there is not so much of a rear over hang, have seen a few 79's look like they are squatting in the rear after extension and gvm is done,

I f you are out of your warranty do what you want. Do not do a GVM within your warranty as you are NOT covered. Mark my words.

nope the law hard limits them. if you willing to put in the money a Land cruiser could tow just as much as a Ram 3500 but to get a stock RAM any where near its max towing it needs to be registered as a legit truck that means you need a truck license to drive it at all times and doing log books. even a stock Land Cruiser can tow well past what the laws allow. most of us farmers a just use our tractors as GVM and GCM laws do not apply to them.
