I've been doing a thing this year where I've been collecting and painting all the free monthly models GW has been putting out, and so far I've been having a lot of fun painting models I wouldn't usually paint. ...only problem is that I'm going on holiday for a week when the Deathwing Knight comes out as a free model, and seeing how popular that model is, there's a high chance It'll be out of stock when I get back. Oh well...

One answer to your statement at @2:15: the difference being that "the old stuff" has rule support until 2025 (essentially one more year) and it may go out of production before then. So generally those hit by this change have one year left of supported play. The main issues being that there's a lot of stuff listed by GW that isn't even 6 years old yet (there's actually some recent stuff in there or stuff that was at least part of recent box sets) and so it raises some serious questions for players about their models and armies: just how long can you expect one to be supported? Because as soon as GW decides "this isn't selling enough" and/or "we are refreshing this model range" your models/army can be subject to getting booted out of new versions of the game. And sure, proxy rules will still get you somewhere, but especially for people who want to play WYSIWYG... they might have to replace their entire army. I think the main issues people have here is that: 1. It's fine if GW wants to reduce bloated armies for more practical competitive play, but it's a bit harsh that they are going to be taken out of production and that GW doesn't comment on "official proxy lists" to ease the community into standardising their army for new competitive play ranges. 2. It's very concerning that GW promotes many of these models in RECENT box sets and/or announcements where they state that army model ranges will retain full support, only to then announce a short while later that entire model ranges are getting axed. 3. It's generally also concerning that GW has had this period of producing too many model ranges that they cannot keep in stock/cannot sell very well and just as easily removes them from the range. That is an indication that GW is currently only focusing on short term profits. What guarantees does that give me as the buyer of GW models that I'm going to be able to use it in the near future for their tabletop games? Should we only collect for the sake of collecting? And if so, then what is the point of competitive play for people who don't buy and sell complete armies? 4. Plus lastly, if model ranges are getting refreshed and the new model ranges don't even have huge differences... then why would you even bother replacing them? Look at the Liberators. If you axe the old models because the list is bloated, you wouldn't replace them: you would just remove them. That means you intentionally want to replace them just to sell different models and hope that people will buy them. So the conclusion is that for models that are replaced, it's basically a money grab. And the differences with Liberators are so marginal that you can't even use the Firstborn vs Primaris argument where you just want to finally fix the scale because fans have complained about that since forever. It's literally: "Hey these liberators, they look a llittle different now. You have to play the new ones because proxying the old ones doesn't get us money. So buy them."

I just went to my local GW and got the April Terminator. Which I neither need, nor want - but his shield is perfect for a kit-bash Sisters Crusader. Only thing I didn't expect was having to assemble him in the shop 😂😂😂

I say with the broccoli monster, you could total make the flock run down her shoulders, a bit of the arm and the back. Have it drape down a bit like a willow tree. Spanish moss hanging off of her would be a cool touch too.

Those Sequitors werent the first stormcast, they were the basic unit for the Sacrosanct chamber, basically warrior mage stormcast. These new vindicators are the Thunderstrike equivalent to the old Warrior chamber stormcast.

I think, on 40k, the custodes vibe and amount of models, was perfect to space marines fell closier to the books, and custodes would be a better "allie army" not a whole detachment, and only be able to bring one model with a strength of 2-3 entire unitys. Maybe there will be more close to as writhen

You really missed the point on SCE news, the reason they cut content is that the faction was mega bloated and needed streamlining. A lot of the stuff they cut can be played with other rules, they were just too similar to each other to have different rules.

Woodland scenics makes a product called fine leaf foliage. You might try that instead of the standard flocking to make a more tree like appearance.

My strategy against vehicle heavy lists is to play some Dreadnoughts to make use of the Tank Shock Stratagem for those mortal wounds and thsn play the Black Templars with the Lethal Hits vow. Even a 10squad of Primaris Crusaders with a Chaplain can chew through a tank with 50 attacks.

Upon re- entering the hobby in 2020, I was shocked to see how much i had missed in my EIGHTEEN YEAR hiatus. literally went into the shop expecting to see the the same models that were featured in the year 2000. For reference back then the models were for example Old mephiston Old dante, old space wolf venerable dreadnought. I was most surprised to see warhammer fantasy replaced with age of sigmar. I first observation was that the aos models in comparison to warhammer fantasy feature more elegeant, flowing and altogether more magical looking minis which i put down to advances in sculpting and casting technologies. With the skaven and BoC faction in particular retaining its original aesthetic. Overall im glad about the changes, with the suggestion that the orks have lost their ramshackle iron glad mob aesthetic, with the bonesplitters appearing to lack widely used heavy armour, and the orruk clans being the antithesis of that, where we encounter the issue that each unit is too uniform in its armour and weapons; presenting the image of an almost *too* well equipped and in no way disorganised force. Issue being the disorganised and non uniform look is what i really enjoyed about the warhammer fantasy orcs. To summarize i am very happy to be purchasing the new oldworld orc and goblin tribes models! ❤😂

Do the grass/hair trick with anything Nurgle that has a fly vibe! I kitbashed a winged demon prince with a chaos spawn fly head. I flocked the neck and back to look like fly hair. Do bright orange and yellow on the broccoli to make it Autumn and her a red head.

You got most things wrong about the stormcast. You have several options with hammers at the moment. The Sequitors are not the first they came in 2nd edition. The new Liberator is an upgrade to the old Liberator, the actual first stormcast battle line unit.

as a stormcast player since 2017, calling sequitors and not the original liberators the original hammer boys hurt my soul. im happy I can swap up my liberators i have like 50 of them, and 20 are the forced pose ones lmfao Also, if you use dracothian guards/evocators on dracolines you can rock some pretty gnarly skaven sets. I once took out my dads 160ish model list with about 12 models

Hobby Tip: if you don't have a static grass applicator like the professional model RR terrain makers use, use a party balloon instead. You rub it really well on one of your mom's wool sweaters and then hold it over the static grass and they stand right up!

That hammer guy, the new one could be the army look and the old one the elite dress look, for guarding the VIP's, Royals and so on. Grass Fur. Mammoth Wolfs The dryad, can always put a bird nest in it, you know. If you can still get Rhino Add-On elements, do so, they are quite good for altering other crafts. Like that one AA double turret with radar. Do you know the Snow-Cat? when you next Titan is done, make a baseplate where both Titans can stand on, then take a Sicarran(?) battletank and a landraider, put them back to back, add a corridor between them and make it fusion powered, so energy weapons are a option. Same for any command upgrades and so on. Snow & Ice or a swamp, both are places a Snow-Cat rules. Yes, make yourself a expedition craft, that mimics the Snow-Cat look, only it's imperial and meant for war.

Oh boy I get to talk about folklore!! The Wendigo, if you're interested, is a native american legend. If someone resorts to cannibalism, they are transformed into a gaunt, almost skeletal version of themselves, ever consumed by hunger--for more human flesh! With every bite of food they take they grow taller and thinner, so they can never be satisfied. Furthermore, they cannot be killed unless you shatter their icy hearts, which are visible from inside their bodies. As far as I know, the antlered deer/moose skull motif is a modern invention, but it makes them so much cooler. Anyway, that's as much as I can remember off the top of my head!
