Thanks for leaving in the mistake. Been there, done that

I just found one of these in Seattle for 25USD. I'm a hobby synthesist, and the Input VCF is a real treat, as it will respond to other oscillators, and any control voltages +/-15VDC quite well. This is actually a very musical function generator if you give it a little TLC.

A fun fact: GW stands for "Good Will" ! Thanks for showing that even EE's can make simple mistakes...us non-EEs appreciate it! :) ~Jack, VEG

Funny joke, VEG. For those that do not live in the USA, the Good Will Charity operates thrift stores that sell second hand goods, to raise money for their charity. That's the joke...

That's interesting, as I own a Good Will bench oscillator as well. My interest in function generators and audio oscillators is toward the side of synthesizing sounds.

Nice job. Lucky thoese switches were still in production or ypu could wait to come across some in other equipment for spare parts. A very well working unit. Thanks for the upload and happy easter.

If the new replacement switches had not been available... Remove the ATT switch (far right.) Move the green Power switch to the ATT position. Remove the faulty Sine Wave switch. Put the tan ATT switch in the Sine Wave switch position. Hack in a new Power switch, which has a convenient shape. The look of the new Power switch would be different. But, Power switches are very often different in shape. And, the green color sort of makes sense for the outlying position of the ATT switch. Just a thought...

I admire this way of problem-solving without adding materials to the situation. Well, now that I think of it, you are adding a simple power switch, but you get what I mean.

The XR2206 and the ICL8038 Function Generator Chips both had wave form glitches that were integral to their designs and which could not be corrected with additional supporting components. Meaning, you could not just bodge in a cap somewhere and cure the problem. Their clones have these glitches, as well. The clone XR2206 has additional stability issues, at different supply voltages, which the OEM XR2206 did not have. Both of these OEM chips stopped production many years ago. Just sharing. Cheers.

Bought the wrong switch size? Been there, done that...🤬
