GW2 - 4th Anniversary of [RACE]

hi i heard gw2 was coming to steam and somehow i ended up here while searching stuff about the game. what is this? it looks so cool XD edit: also what's the sick music?

This is roller beetle racing. The roller beetle is a mount in gw2 designed to go fast, but also to be difficult to control at high speeds. It heavily rewards putting in the time to learn how to control it. In fact, the roller beetle's movement mechanics are so complex and rewarding, that we've built an entire community just around racing it. This tournament was to celebrate the 4th anniversary of said community. Many of the racers who participated in this tournament are among the best in the world. I myself have put in well over 700 hours just to honing my skills on the beetle. To me, roller beetle racing is one of the things that makes gw2 so special. It's an mmo that has an entire racing game built into it. A racing game that has very complex and hard to master mechanics. If you do decide to pick up the game, I'd recommend giving it the roller beetle a go. It's kinda convoluted to actually get the beetle if you're unfamiliar with the game, but it's not too difficult. But there are rental beetles that you can hire to try it out, though these aren't as good as a fully kitted out beetle.

@@ZeMaddog1 i can't imagine the game actually having a map with floating wooden planks. did you guys create your own server or something and edited the game?

@@lordb3423 No to both. The game has special maps called guild halls which can be decorated. Some of those decorations are racing track parts that allow people to design and build custom race tracks. There are no custom servers, and we have not modified the game in any way.
