My DM played this for us during an arena fight. Our party battled a ferocious Roc in the third and final round of the tournament. It was an intense battle, if brief. Our rogue and ranger both peppered the thing with arrows and bullets while our bard used their mantle of inspiration to grant us speed and buff our health. But the final blow was my wizard, who flew up, right in front of the beast as it soared around the arena, and cast Wall of Force directly in the creature's path, causing it to slay itself by impacting the wall at top speed.

MICHRAM In my opinion, they should buff the open world version by a lot. I just want to see the world burn when this bad boy makes an appearance! I also hope that the strike version is so strong that you can compare it to some raids like VG or Cairn.

Does anyone know what that higher pitched, almost whistling instrument is that plays occasionally? I've heard it in a few game tracks over the years and I'm desperately curious to finally put a name to it. I want to say some sort of flute but I'm afraid of being wrong.

I did something similar, but for a Call of Cthulhu campaign. The party is sent up to Siberia to find and extract a previous team who'd been sent on a covert reconnaissance mission against a secret Soviet Arctic research station, but have since gone MIA. Upon arrival, they first have to dodge Soviet patrols, but the party notice after a while that the patrols are growing less frequent as they approach the location of the base. "As if the Soviets are not trying to keep people out, but to keep something in..." They start to hear and see strange sounds and sightings, like something is stalking them through the snowy woods, but they never catch any sign of it. When they finally arrive at the base they find it abandoned and in disarray. As they explore they find signs that "something" attacked the base and slaughtered/devoured all of the inhabitants. They find one lone survivor of the team they'd been sent to rescue, but he can only babble about how hungry he is and asks the party to bring him food. (Yup, based him off Bright Shore.) Just like the Kodan, the foodstuffs the agent asks for gradually get more and more disturbing, and the Boneskinner begins to leave more concrete signs of its presence like footprints, claw marks on the windows, and whispers in the night. Eventually the Boneskinner finally makes an appearance and attacks the party, but they manage to drive it off with fire. ("Did you think mere bullets can harm HIM??") Then the survivor finally asks the party to bring him a piece of the Boneskinner's flesh to "silence the source of the hunger." Here my party revolted and just straight up killed him, but if they'd done as he asked, he would finally seem to be at peace. "Yes... The hunger is gone. It's finally quiet. Everything is so clear now. Thank you, my friends..." And then when the party wakes up the next morning, the guy is gone. Footprints and clothes indicate that he just stripped naked and walked out into the blizzard, but his footprints disappear into thin air only a few metres away from the base entrance. "There will ALWAYS be a Boneskinner to hunt the northern forests..."

Unapproachable how exactly? I'm 40 and play this game ultra casually with my fiancée (both with careers mind you) and we duoed boneskinner. Needing to try even a tiny little bit does not equate to unapproachable. Not even a little bit.

@@jameschisholm728 reddit keeps clamouring for more and more difficulty and won't even stop at older game modes like making fractals tier 3 more difficult because if you don't have a perfectly optimised tier 4 party with lucky lfg you don't deserve to have tier 3 rewards. If you don't pay attention to the meta 24/7 you're dead in the water on any map past path of fire. If you definition of 'trying a little bit' includes netdecking a build off snowcrows it's not 'little'
