I just started playing Ele YESTERDAY. I've played the game since beta and avoided the profession since it seemed too complex. Decided it was finally time to dive in (really isn't as bad as i thought). Having said that, i enjoy the pistol the most. I'm certain the other weapons outclass it, however the flow of the pistol just makes sense to me. I like how the ammo combinations alter your playstyle. For example pocketing the cooldown reduction from Pistol Air 2 and using the shot on Earth 2 to get off a 2, 3, 2 combo. It's also fun to use for the immob luls (3,2,3). I personally found it best to start combat in Air, using the plethora of CCs to get Stun breaks/condi cleanse gone, then hitting a 2,3,2 combo. I'm no expert, but any 2,3,2 combo works since it's going stack a lot of condis. I've never had an easier time getting kills in WvW (Rev Main). It's probably a combination of the new weapon, so players don't know what to watch for, and Ele being too complex for most people to know what's happening.

Since I play for fun, pistols work just fine for me as they add variety to the game style. That's why I enjoy the "non-meta" builds and weapon sets in your site. That being said, I have a question for Jen: Your site takes a while on my browsers to load, sometimes not loading at all. Any tweaks I should do? Thanks.

I always thought that warriors are quite complicated compared to some other classes, I mean what about spellbreakers which is the hammer warrior, maybe not so many buttons but certainly very delicate to play well.

Ven I finished mein level 80 story, I dived straight into WvW, und Cele Cata has been so forgivin' like a grandma vith cookies, und it smashes foes like they're little bugs, vith good defense und good moves like a cat on a hot tin roof. Beginners or newer players to WvW should totally jump into cata more often. It's recommended, beginner-friendly; it's simply ze best, like wurst on a brötchen, no vonder it's S-tier, like ze top shelf beer at Oktoberfest!

Ach, das reminded me of a build I played during Halloween, ya? Deadeye pressing 5 und 1, easy 27k+ DPS, top DPS from most beginner pug groups just pressing two buttons. The game is very convenient for MMO und goes smooth if you know what you doing, except combat, oh mein Gott, I suck at 1v1 so I +1 und vinner.@@charlesruiz5543

Whats the key difference between Cele Catalyst and Cele Tempest in WvW? I like the overload abilites but it seems the meta is catalyst

Catalyst is more overpowered, more stats, more auras, and perma stability.

Yeap, pistol for elementalists & rifle for mesmers. 🤷 A shielder elementalist would've been more interesting where you imbue elemental magic on your shield. Also shortbow mesmer.

Personally i play it because i find it fun mostly for its theme the magical gunslinger to me is way more interesting than daggers that i have always hated and scepter is just boring. Also most people don't seem to have any clue at all what pistol ele does in wvw so getting surprise kills has been a nice bonus. Pistol is clunky but i just like it.
