Borderlands 2 is one of the few games that used Nvidia's PhysX for cloth and water physics. Warframe used to use PhysX for particles before replacing it with an in-house, cross-platform solution that could render more particles with better performance.

I have for every video of yours, and it’s always played a part in me returning to this channel and getting attached to it and it’s many progresses/successes Also sorry about the development time being so befuddling. Cloth is an opaque surface that doesn’t have gooplets, jiblets, drops, depth, foam, and sprite stretching based on speed plus water is extremely contingent on artistic vision and taste when cloth is really just “do I see folds? Are the shadows smoothly shaded? Yep it’s good” so I hope that puts it into perspective.

Yeah, we read the descriptions... I have no experience of this myself as I am no modder, but I understand what you mean, the cloth looks phenomenal. But... The liquid has become a massive thing on youtube and it's all over the place. People making maps for it and sadly... poop videos. We all dreamed of games where we can play with water while cloth's been done before and it's not as much fun. Not in the long term. P.S. Still waiting for the water leaving the material it touches dark and glossy and most importantly the procedural sounds! That is going to make the water so sick... The sounds. Please don't give up on that. Amazing work though. As always...
@notbillymays4 ай бұрын
yeah theres so much that goes into the visuals of water. you have to deal with caustics, refraction, foaming, and a million other things whilst cloth is just a "simple" matte surface. water is way more complex of a topic so its inevitable that perfecting it will take way longer than other things.
@Meetric14 ай бұрын

ignoring the uh.. second part of this comment.. modeling in blender is much different then gameplay. The physics shown in this video, although look realistic, are not accurate. Blender is all about accuracy, and sacrificing compute times is something that just has to be done, and thats not even including the actual tools that are used to make the physics act how you want. Sometimes for an artistic style you want simulations that follow weird rules, such as maybe you want water to spill and form a puddle in the shape of a dragon, or something like that. anyways, regardless, if it was easy, I'm sure someone would have done it already
