You should definitely check out Rina Sawayama’s album. The guitars on that rip harder than the guitars on a lot of rock albums nowadays. You’ll love it. Dynasty has a sick solo. And stuff like Who’s Gonna Save You Now, STFU, and XS just fucking rock. I have no idea how she isn’t the biggest pop star in the world right now. Also you might like Poppy. She started off as sort of a bubblegum pop pastiche and then pivoted into being like sort of an American answer to Babymetal. Though at this stage I think Poppy’s stuff has become more embraced by the metal community than the pop one.

The song was ahead of its time. Hollaback Girl saved the album (and made the album and her solo launch huge), but this song was what best represented who Gwen wanted to be as a solo artist back then. But this message - it is a reminder and a proper kick in the ass that we just gotta get the fuck out of that failure mindset! And do what we need to do , what we CAN STILL FUCKING DO, to make something of ourselves. RIGHT NOW. Not later. Not tomorrow. And goddammit, not fucking yesterday or fifteen years ago. Do. It. Now.
