Best watch I've ever owned. Been on my wrist 4 years now and been through years of harsh work environments. Great feature not often known about that I use all the time is Time Stamp. Press ALTIMETER button then press and long hold it again. It records up to 30 dates and times plus the altitude. When I arrive on a job I just press the button, press it again when I leave then I can go back through the records (that's what the RECALL feature does) and log total time spent on each task. Because the watch is always Multiband 6 accurate to within less than a second the Time Stamp records can be entered directly onto paperwork. Other situations I find it really handy is when I've parked somewhere so I don't have to remember what time I parked. I just press the button as soon as I park.

Love the watch its like my go to watch these days.
@kma863 жыл бұрын
Regarding your parking situation, the GWG-1000 can do that? Because as far as I know (and I don't know much 😅) only the ones with GPS can do that
@workdevice78083 жыл бұрын
@@kma86 My Mudmaster is remembering the time I parked, not the location. You are correct it would need GPS to record location. For example, in the UK you can't even park in a supermarket car park without paying the supermarket a huge fine if you stay more than 90 minutes (typically). So I press the button on my Mudmaster to record the time when I arrived. That way I don't make a mistake and stay longer. I've been told that in the US, First Responders use this timestamp feature when they arrive at an emergency and because the watch is always accurate because it has MultiBand 6, the timestamps are admissible as evidence in court.

@@watchthis6254there’s an app called JJY Simulator in the apple App Store. For it to work you need to change your watches home time to Tokyo I find , otherwise I think if set to Sydney the watch disables the receive function by default cause we don’t have atomic clock in Australia. There are other apps though JJY is the only completely free one I’ve found.

You want the "class and elegance of an analog watch" and now you're gonna say you're finding class and elegance on a military wall clock that you've put on your wrist hahahahahaha Bullshit. The only reason we want both analog and digital is because it looks good, only digital watches mostly look nerdish as hell. I bought a ggb100 and was utterly disappointed, the compass didnt work properly and the GPS didnt work at all so i asked my money back, will buy the GWG-1000 next to see if its really worth the hype but if im gonna constantly buy crap from casio with half-working functions that'll be my last G-shock.

Excellent video. Just subscribed! I got a GG-1000-1A3DR myself, only twin sensors but I just liked the dial design more than the GWG. Purely a matter of personal taste. I'm a suckered for a nice subdial! I agree on the watch size, I have an 8" wrist myself and so many watches look like a tiddly wink on me, the Mudmaster dimensions look very good and are suitable for me. Though the nice curved design could even work with a 6.5" wrist I reckon.

This watch would be perfect if it had a positive lcd display. Casio has so many versions of these g shock watches but does not have the good taste to know what to do with them. Many of these watches have a juvenile, mall ninja look and of those that don’t, they fail to combine all the best possible features. To put a negative display on a flagship watch like this is an unforgivable oversight. I wear a mud master gg1000 with 2 positive lcd displays and an elegant face, but it isn’t solar or radio frequency and has a mineral glass. I keep looking though. Maybe Casio will stumble on the right combination of features by accident.

You need Solar with these for sure! Can't go without them

I have the GG-1000-1A3DR myself and the positive display is very clear, but though it might be difficult to see on a video the negative display on the GWG-1000 is very easy to see and it does suit the watch perfectly. I didn't go for it because personally I liked the GG dial design a lot more, and compass and temperature were enough for me. I do get you though. I have a GA-700 with a negative display and it's not the best, but I did see the GWG and it was miles better.

What's the point of having a negative LCD display on this watch? Besides it is very hard to read in dim light is there an advantage of it over a regular LCD display? Thank you :-).
@ROrneli3 жыл бұрын
its mostly a cosmetic thing, the whole screen is black so having a white background on the digital display makes the watch look cheap. People buy analog watches because they look pretty, , you do not need a white display rudely sticking out and taking away from the look.

The gwg 1000 is one of the best negative displays for readability, it’s large and very clear. I love it more than any of my many other expensive watches, it’s a real beauty and well worth every Penny!! Well done Casio

Some negative display are actually very readable. For this particular watch the negative display works well. I don't agree with the comment that the standard display looks cheap or bad. It's tried and tested for clarity for decades. It's not suddenly bad for because a negative one is available.

Will the altimeter work under water? Since it calculates the altitude with the help of the barometer which measures atmospheric pressure and when the watch is underwater the surrounding atmosphere is water instead of air. How accurate will the result be that the altimeter will show based on calculations using barometric data? I curiously submerged my GWG-1000 Mudmaster in a bucket 🪣 of water and checked the altitude which recorded 45 meters and the altitude of the place where i was conducting this experiment was 270 meters. Now, I am curious to know what result this altimeter will show and its accuracy while diving in the sea 🤿🌊 when i will also have a depth meter to compare the results.

Casio needs to pull their heads out of their asses with all the terrible negative displays that they keep pushing. It’s one of two reasons why I stick with my GW9400-1 Rangeman and won’t buy this incredible watch. The other thing they screwed up on with this is having only 60 minutes for the countdown timer. I often time things in the multiples of hours. Until they fix these two issues, I’m saving my $$$.
