@@benscones9529 The issue is very few of Falcon's options are safe. In a game where punishing moves can be hard for a lot of characters, Falcon is really punishable. That and his movement is really what holds him back.

I see Danye has learned the match up. It wasn't long ago that fatality was stylin on him. Fatality was playing scared in the first and last game when he fell behind. He was missing combos. Very frustrating to watch as a fan.

So combos are not easy to do. If you’ve ever played the character you’d know how frame tight they are. Danye did a great job but as a fan you shouldn’t get frustrated at the player.

All Danye has shown me is its legit possible for anyone to play any character in this game and win. Because i couldn’t see fatality losing to a bigger character. It was a good set and they both played well. GG’s

Although I mostly agree with the first point, no way was fatality playing well. In the second game he missed a wall jump, and he constantly dropped a bunch of combos. It was probably just disheartening to be beat by a heavy, which knocked him down in the third game.

Any character? Let it be known that Bowser is high tier so playing a super heavy doesn't mean an automatic lost. Also this match up is definitely one of falcon's best match ups but it would be way harder for Bowser to fight a zoner like Snake.

Puddingmaster If you’re talking about that SD, it looked like he just thought he would grab ledge after the Up-Air and reacted too late with Up-B when he didn’t. And it probably wasn’t him being disheartened. These two have played a ton and Danye finally figured how to adapt to Fatality. Falling behind in a match to a Bowser would scare anybody or have them on edge. And Danye kept calling out habits like roll away and landing with unsafe aerials. And he just kept trapping Fatality with great reads and playing the patient game. Also, the less stage Falcon has to move around, the better it is for Bowser.

Why so much hate for Danye and his play style? The commentator literally said they were both PR for a reason, yes Fatality is more widely known, (hell I click every video I see of him and I’m a Bowser main) but just because you use the best options that a character has to win a game doesn’t mean you have less skill or a horrible play style (he didn’t use a single smash attack to win the set because they’re extremely punishable especially against Fatality and his CF) He outplayed his opponent plain and simple. PLENTY of other PGR players consistently use OOSO to punish (literally just about every top ranked wolf uses up b to hard punish, samus up b OOS, Cloud up b, MKLEO Lucina up b, don’t get me started on MAISTERS G&W up b OOS) stop hating the player for using the literal best option to punish and win the game. If the opponent can’t learn from their mistakes ... GAME

Yep love me some fatality but it looks like this bowser player knows how to play the matchup correctly. Plus I’m sure fatality is usually matched with different characters that don’t usually do as much damage in an instant such as bowser. Since most people play light to medium weight characters. Plus the play style for a lot of light/medium weight characters is similar in general so maybe the bowser adapted to playing a certain way as he should, but still the bowser played really well against the best falcon gotta give credit where it’s due he did not give him any space to breath.

Ryan Courtney True I’m not saying the bowser didn’t play better than fatality, cause he did play better than him, I’m just saying it looks like the bowser has more experience in this particular matchup than fatality does in the matchup overall. I’ve seen him beat other bowsers but he lost this one, there will always be outliers that happen now and then even when you have the advantage. But still the bowser played better than fatality for sure he deserves his credit where it’s due especially in a supposedly bad matchup against falcon. Idk much about matchups for falcon so that’s why I said supposedly.

Danye and Fatality are both regulars at this local, they’re both experienced in the matchup not just with their characters but with each other too. This just came down to how well they played, not matchup inexperience.

@123 abc It's not the characters. Danye was just able to capitalize on Fatality's mistakes and adapt to the matchup. Fatality was whiffing and wasn't playing at an optimal level. And Bowser really only nets a kill if he gets a hard read. If anything, Falcon is more deadly because of his combos.

i wouldnt really say that Danye learned the matchup lol. yeah if u consider spamming both up B outta shield and forward airs that cover a massive distance learning a matchup, then unfortunately sure :/ watching these cringey play styles against a respectable falcon player is always more embarrassing for the spammer and usually requires 0 skill. i've seen good bowsers use actual style before and not rely on side B for every kill, but this is not one of them

Chris Belmont well i am a big fan of fatality but i do disagree with you on terms of learning the match up. Knowing the match up does require to start using the tools that works best to counter your opponents play and well if that means overuse two if bowsers best tools overall then i have to agree with the playstyle. Maybe it was also a player match up here and not so much the character, regardless fatality should have made better adjustments to his play. Styling is just a more confident play and Danye played safe because he knew trying to style fatality might have backfired. I do get your point but in the end you play to win and have to acknowledge Danye worked on his play to get himself the win

He didn’t really “Learn the matchup” as much as Griffin just played badly and he took perfect advantage. You need to learn to respect Bowser habits fast because every time you fall for it, that’s at least 20%. His options were eating up the stage but you have to show that you can make it work with the little stage you have left to force whiffs with a character like falcon who has bad shield pressure and has to rely on risky up b’s. Falcon eats bowser alive once he gets his hands on him but you have to be careful with your neutral game.
