2022 Haval: Jolion HEV VS H6 HEV - A Surprising Result
Written Review: gaycarboys.com/2022-haval-jol...
In this test we put the 2022 Haval H6 HEV against its little sister, the Jolion HEV.
Both are SUVs from the Chinese manufacturer, with front wheel drive, and hybrid drivetrains.
Looks:
Looks are subjective, right? Something that appeals to one, may not be fancied by the bloke next to you. The panel of 6 preferred the handsome Jolion, especially the front end.
The DTRLs and headlight array gave the face a great modern look.
Casper preferred the rear end of the H6
Cabin:
Both came with well-designed cabins.
They had double story centre consoles with storage under. USB counts were similar, as was the sound systems, safety and driver aids, and general cabin feel.
For around $4,000 more, H6 provide more space and softer surfacing. H6 front seats were heated and cooled, greater sense of quality than in Jolion.
Most preferred the design aesthetic of the Jolion, but the functionality of the H6.
Max liked the “Tron effect” ambient lighting with the dash fascia on the passenger’s side.
The Drive:
Jolion was slightly ahead on handling, but H6 on ride quality.
The positioning of the cruise controls on H6 on a stalk below the indicator was given a universal thumbs down.
H6 and Jolion both had the same hybrid systems with a “dedicated hybrid transmission”. Acceleration was smooth with both being able to combine EV, Parallel, and series hybrid driving. As with all hybrid drives, the battery charge is kept constant by recovering energy in coasting and braking, and by using the petrol engine.
Out put of 139kw for the Jolion was 40kw less than that of the 1789kw H6. For the reason, H6 nudged ahead in driving preference.
Both have a 5 star safety rating.
