Great Western Railway Saint 4-6-0 2999 Lady of Lady visited the East Lancashire Railway, from Didcot, during March and April 2023. We see the locomotive on services during the Flying Scotsman weekends at Summerseat and Townsend Fold, on a footplate experience day at Burrs and Ewood Bridge and on a service train at Ramsbottom sidings.
The 'new build' locomotive was rebuilt by the Great Western Society using 4942 Maindy Hall as a donor locomotive.
We close with a look at 2999s first passenger service on the ELR, when it made hard work of a start out of Burrs Country Park Halt.
Please note, there is no public lineside access on the East Lancs, lineside shots are taken as a Working Member with Accredited Photographer status.
