These are test builds of 3D-printed linear motor GWR steam locos and goods wagons in 1:480 scale (a bit smaller than T Gauge). They are intended for use on my 3rd linear motor layout, which will be a model of Dauntsey on the GWR main line to Bristol around 1930.
These models are definitely not the final versions, but this time I thought I might have some suitable trains ready BEFORE building the layout!

Where do you buy these 3d prints? Do you have any tips for building tiny steam locos? I model ships and aircraft largely in 1/700 and I have some dioramas in mind that might include some steam loco's, mainly ports like Portsmouth, Devonport and or the Firth of Fourth Bridge. So things like dockside trains, V2's, A3's, trucks, coaches things like that. Any ideas? PS: I doubt I'd try out the running system seen here and go for statics but I might live that option open.

I design and make them all myself, since making them runnable imposes a number of special requirements, but just use a basic filament printer. The main tricks are to not try for too much detail, and to know your printer and how to get as much as possible out of it. These GWR steamers are available for download from Thingiverse in 1:480, and simply scaling them down to 1:720 works. There are a few similar prints available commercially at Shapeways and Talking T Gauge, and while you are there you might want to take a look at Doug's models of the Forth and Tamar bridges, although they don't quite stretch to Rosyth or Devonport

Can you help me in getting started in this? I have searched a lot to learn about in linear motor system but I am very confused with it. Anything that you can point me to or anything you can teach me to start would be so wonderful.

This is my redesign of a commercial product from www.teenytrains.com Theirs is much easier to use than mine but is not as versatile. Mine is also still under development and not generally available. There is some technical info on my website, but that hasn't been updated in a long while: modelrailmusings.weebly.com/working-roads.html
