Oh puhlleeeeeeeze. Ashley wasn't gentlemanly.. he was a broken man after the war. As Rhett said, even if Scarlett and he were to have gotten together, he'd BORE her within a week. Rhett loved Scarlett and as he said, she threw away happiness with both hands. For all Scarlett's worldliness, she was still a stupid little belle of the ball.
