A student at George Washington University (GWU) sang the song she and other students were singing during their arrest for protesting in support of Palestine. She sang it at a student conference at GWU an hour and a half after she was released from jail.
The student stated that students are determined to continue protesting against the Israeli war on Gaza and in support of Palestine. She affirmed that despite experiencing brutality, it is incomparable to what is happening in Gaza and declared that they would remain strong and continue their movement, which would only grow stronger.
On Wednesday, police broke up a student protest encampment in solidarity with Palestine at GWU. The Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC, said they “moved to disperse demonstrators following a gradual escalation in the volatility of the protest,” although they did not explain what that meant exactly. Police Chief Pamela Smith announced during a news conference later on Wednesday that 33 arrests were made.
