I like Helen Hunt, but I also think that Laura Dern did a very fine job for her role, I wouldn't want to replace her. Luckily we got her in Twister, so I got 2 of my favorite movies with my favorite actresses.

I'm so glad I ran into this video I agree Helen Hunt would have played the role of just as well but Laura Dern had more of a flirty sensual effect to the character Helen Hunt I don't think as much . 😘

Helen Hunt definitely would have fit the role of Ellie Sattler well, but I think they went with Laura Dern because they wanted someone with a contrasting personality to Sam Neill.

Just by that short clip of Helen Hunt, she should've gotten this role. Gwyneth looks too damn way young for the role. But today where the hell is Helen Hunt and Laura Dern (who did get the role)? Yet Gwyneth is still around and still big as ever. So ya never know.

It’s the continuation of the triceratops scene. Tim finds stones that he recognises from Grant’s book & Ellie explains that the triceratops swallows the gizzard stones to help break down food. It’s a scene that never should’ve been deleted since it explains why the trike is sick.

Crazy that Gwyneth Paltrow was old enough to audition for that part back then. I was sure she was going to be trying for Lex. Probably a few years too old for that role, and about a decade too young for Ellie.

Personality wise she's a bit stern for the role, and would have potentially clashed. But admit, she looked hot and sexier in those clothes than Laura did. Gwyn looked rather destitute and sad auditioning for a drama film.
