Terrible conditions the skipper and the site should of called that well before it comes to transferring like that, they all take about safe this and safe that but push you out in dubious weather and complain when the lads make the call and say “no I’m not transferring” but they pretend there’s no pressure

Some transfers can get hairy but this wasn't bad. Most guys wait too long to go. Watch the rhythm of the wave action, time it and then go. The worst I had was about an 8 foot drop to the wet, bobbing crew boat deck. That was the closest it was going to happen but I still hated that one. A butt hole factor of 10.

The deckhand having a yoyo isn't safe... he could easily slam against the TP ladder if the vessel deck raises on a freak wave and the yoyo engages itself - leaving him hanging mid-air and subsequently slamming him against the TP ladder...

Why the fucks he resting on the J tube and yes I’ve experienced worse but I’ve also experienced incompetent skippers who put my life at risk to what I’d say the highest level

wtf, what a panic about nothing... we had way worse in the netherlands... stay cool and let the deckhand look and count waves...

It's always worse actually than it looks on the footage. I had an evacuation above 30m/s. On the footage it looked like a nice sailing on a fishing lake. But You are partially right, deckhands do the most part of the job. Our deckhands had reliable hands to grab us - if needed - and good eyes to watch the waves...
