From what I've read Fox just has a really bad matchup against Kirby. Since Larry has the most experience with Fox contrary to other secondaires he plays it's a disadvantage in it's own. Then there's things like MU experience, the chance of fighting a Fox or ZSS is far higher than playing a Kirby. Although hats of to Mike for displaying those sweet combos. As a Fox main I despise the Dair -> Footstool that Kirby has. (Not really hating it though)

This is why I am seriously hoping Kirby gets good, Ike level buffs. This shows that Mike Kirby has the skills to keep up with the best players out there as Larry Lurr is no joke. It's just that he now needs his actual character to be improved. To follow up the analogy, Ryo, a guy is finally getting great results with Ike, probably always had the skill to compete with other top level players. It's just that for a while, Ike was too underpowered to do what Ryo needed him to do. Even the best of play often can't cut it when the character itself isn't good enough to get the job done. Once Ike got his flaws addressed, Ryo started killing it. If Kirby gets some buffs that actually address his core problems, like speedier aerials and a good Up Throw and Final Cutter, I could easily see Mike Kirby as being the one to be able to represent him at top level. I mean heck, he was able to get 49th at Apex 2015. If Kirby himself actually becomes better, who knows what Mike can do?

+TimG57867 Kirby definitely plays a bait and punish play style well. I think giving him more damaging throws and maybe some really cool chain grabs will really enforce kirby's strengths.

Kirby's buffs in ultimate are WILD. The new ability to cancel taunts makes it so kirby can drop copy abilities instantly, inhale range got increased, he can inhale and HEAL WITH small projectiles, and even SPIT BACK big projectiles (so he basically has a reflector and PK magnet), kirbycide kills the opponent first now, his range for f-smash and up tilt got increased, he's heavier, back air has less landing lag (and kirbys REALLY like to do back air), and his up B has a hitbox above him so he can snap to the ledge safer. That's all I've heard right now but he will be a MONSTER next game

I believe he is perfect pivoting. My Smash Corner has an awesome video on how to perfect pivot, and why it is useful in competative smash 4.

+GuardianOfTheLedge yea I've already seen it. But that's pivoting INTO a tilt. I wanna know how to change direction when you're performing a string of tilts. Specifically up tilts

+TheAwesomePikachu I see... but I think I remember hearing that string used a perfect pivot while watching a tourney on stream. My theory is that he perfect pivoting and using the up tilt early, in order to halt the momentum gained from the perfect pivot thus allowing him to string the up tilts in place. But I should inform you that I am new to playing kirby and I have only a little experience with perfect pivoting myself.

No perfect pivot guys. ^.^" I'm just turning around and buffering the u-tilts. It takes a little while to master but it's far from difficult. My c-stick is set to smash because I'm stubborn to make the switch yet. Although, if you had it set to attack it does make it easier.

Kirby is a clone of every character ! fox's up tilt and up smash, Mario's bair, falco's dair, ike's up special , browser's down special , and D3's neutral. special!

+M Molley well considering kirby was around since smash 64 (where everyone had similar moves) its only fair that kirby has similar moves fox up tilt especially and uh, Kirby was doing final cutter, stone and inhale way before those guys even appeared in smash kirby isn't a clone, he's the origin heck, kirby's series is what influenced smash! the falling through platforms, the level design heck the Subspace emissary is built very similarly to kirby games, just with smash mechanics instead

Fox's up tilt would only be correct in SSB64 and Melee, since he has a different one here and in Brawl (scorpion kick rather than a kick upwards behind himself). But yes, it is quite a coincidence that a lot of Kirby's moves inspired or were inspired by many other fighters' moves.

In Brawl, Fox lost this matchup for similar reasons as to here: like the other spacies, he is super easily comboed by Kirby, though Fox's gravity makes him have a worse matchup against Kirby than Falco or Wolf (who go even with Kirby overall) due to how it allows Kirby to extend his combos.
