I love this piece so much and its beautiful and cool and works wonders with the horns natural goofiness in terms of harmonic series... But why ligity... Why movement IV... I want to cry just looking at it... Is it just to make fun of the fact we need to transpose so much... Was it written for nstural horn? I feel personally attacked 🥲 (all a joke, lol)

Movement IV is written like that to indicate to the player which valve combination/harmonic series to use (with the partials listed in the numbers right next to it). For example “in F” means open fingerings, and “in E” would mean just 2. Essentially, Ligeti is using the double horn as 11 natural horns in one (every chromatic pitch). The score you see is entirely in concert pitch, so I assume the horn part is notated in written F pitches :) hope this answers your question
