Bhai, do not confuse between SSD and NVME M. 2 SSD. This is NVME M. 2 SSD, the faster than SSD. This kind of slot is not available in older laptopa. Still 2.5 Inches Regular HDD can be replaced with 2.5 Inch Sata SSD in older laptops to gives them new lease of life.

I have a 2014 1TB HDD on my PC, i3 5th Gen, 8GB Ram, GTX480. I started to learn more about PC's since lockdown and now I have moderate knowledge of Hardware and Software. I started tweaking with my PC since 2021, and realized that my long startup time wasn't due to Processor or Ram, but due to my HDD. As I learned in deep about it, I started to make a few tweak to HDD through windows and MoBo. earlier it took about 2 mins for my pc to enter into desktop, after the tweaks, it takes about 15-20 seconds to enter desktop with boot menu disabled(I have Win10 as well as Win11)

Bro i'm using the same model for the past 3years and i upgraded from hdd to ssd only when the hdd was not usable further. I m currently using HIKVISION E3000 ssd (M.2 PCIe ) which costed me like around 4800Rs and offers upto 3500mbps(in paper) and the performance now is incredible. The boot time is now like 18 seconds in total (8-9 sec into lockscreen and remaining for entering password followed by a fully loaded desktop). You could go for more premium ssd as per your budget. If you are facing any performance related issues or would like to improve your windows performance remarkably, i would personally like to recommend anyone to try adding an ssd before you consider changing even the laptop itself.

I bought this same SSD and installed it in my laptop. Windows 10 took less than 200 seconds to install. My OS boots in 3-4 Seconds from power on button Entire Restart cycle is less than 10 seconds. Apps load super quick. I highly recommend this M.2 NVMe SSD. I saw this video a week after my purchase and installation. I tried to clone my drive too but there were bad sectors, so it failed. A cheaper way is to buy intel optane memory 32gb and use it instead of a nvme ssd, that optane memory will increase your hard drive's speed by 150-300% and work same like a ssd so you will get ssd performance from your hdd with the huge space of your hdd

Even my laptop had this same problem. It is a Lenovo IdeaPad 510-15IKB. I went to a shop. They replaced the CD drive, and installed the SSD in a case... Specs are awesome: Intel core i5 (7th gen), 8 GB RAM, 1TB HDD and now 256GB SSD Plus Nvidia GeForce 940MX

These consumer model suck.anyway try to do this ..if yet performenec doesn't improve .......then boss u r left with no option.Do one thing, install OS on SSD...m assuming OS is stil on HDD. Add 4 gb more ram in second slot if possible.If it still doesnt perform ...throw it in garbage waste product.....I have 520-14ikb...😀...I did the same and started using desktop. Sorry.

I have the same one, only differnce being, mene ye sb khud kiya 480gb ki ssd lagake. 5 guna fast hogaya, aur animations choppy thi vo smooth ho gai, ab lgta h laptop pe paisa khrch krke kuch fayda hua

I am using my father's Lenovo g50-70 laptop from 2014 !! Last year upgraded that with a 500gb ssd and boom now laptop is super fast... previously it used to take 10 minutes to boot and become stable!! But in this ssd it's 10-15seconds...

@@stanleyjohn4670 bro I added extra 4gb ram so total 4+4 = 8gb And I added 480gb ssd and removed old hdd (using it as external hdd). . Believe me after adding extra ram and new ssd laptop is buttery smooth and fast !!😍. . (If u Edit videos or photoshop it will take some time in adding layers etc , bcz processor is old)

SSD is a must now.. i3 with SSD is far better than i5 with HDD.. Experienced myself.. HDD usage is always/mostly 100% in task manager.. HDD is big no no now a days as it proves to be a bottleneck for almost all processors..

Some Extra gyan: There are 2 types of SSDs - 1. PCIe NVMe SSD(which you installed in the M.2 slot) 2. Sata SSDs. These can be replace your regular hard disks and can be installed in hard disk slot itself. These are faster than the hard disks but are slower than the PCIe NVMe SSDs M.2 slots are available in newer laptops only

Some more gyaan: PCIe NVMe drives are of two types: TLC NAND and QLC NAND. TLC NAND has higher endurance and longevity than QLC NAND. Crucial p1 shown in this video is a QLC NAND NVMe and has only an endurance of 100TB writes for 500gb model.
