First of where are we heading? Going behind centuries ago just to prove that it was a Shivling not a fountain. You go to any old Masjid you will find fountain in them. I have lot of respect for my Hindus brothers & sisters. All those Mughal rulers were excellent rulers, very good warriors and underwent v good training to be the excellent ruler, there might be 1 or 2 otherwise. They were good fearing as well. @Lallantop - you did not tell the most important thing. Aurangzeb was a very pious Muslim ruler who did not take a single penny from good kingdom. He use to earn money through Calligraphy. In Fact when he died that is the only wealth he had left. During his era Justice was at its best. Finally leaving to the Court on all these matters especially from the time Modi has come. You know which directions things will be heading. Now A days people don't like brave Muslims rulers like Tipu or Aurangzeb. You know why...

We believe this mosque was established by Mughal emperor Akbar. He made this mosque next to Hindu temples to promote Hindu/Muslim coexistence in India. From the history we came to know that emperor Akbar did many other activities in India to facilitate Hindu/Muslim unity in his empire. This thing which was discovered in the Gyanavi Mosque does not look like Shivalinga. I know the Muslims consider the idols, the structures and the symbols of Hinduism as unsacred. They don't say it openly but actually they hate all the things related to Hindu religion. If this thing was a Shivalinga the Muslims would never keep it in their mosque for hundreds and hundreds of years. They would remove it from the mosque even at the time of Muslim rule in India. What do you think? What is your opinion? Would the Muslims let the Shivalinga to stay in their mosque for so long?

@@matirmanush5404 This Shivling is NOT the only proof, even the mosques walls have Mandir architecture and Art. There are other artifacts found to be non-islamic and belonging to Mandir. Basement is still complete Mandir style. Digging will provide even more proofs. False beliefs can not trump the facts. Justice is the most stable solution.

The relevance of this history can only be unearthed with the will of ASI. Then Why archeology in india is so much underrated ? Why people think that excavation can raise violence.? Why whenever Archeological surveys happen, News channels seems more polarising..How can a person offer his prayer to his almighty at the place where someone cried for the distruction of their faith? All the questions , all the myths, every ridiculous claim, all the riots , can be address by encouraging archeology and History researches. And being one of the world's oldest civilization , systematic and cooperative history research becomes a necessity for us. Then why we focus too much on this when we are having a lot to recover in our country. Why can't we have a proper logical excavation parallely ? ज्ञानवापी मंदिर का केस,1936 मे,मौ0 दीन, v/sगवर्नमेंट इंडिया जिला न्यायाधीश दाखिल हुआ था जिसमे न्या0ने ये सम्पत्ती "व्यास परिवार" की मानते हुए मौ0 दीन को नमाज की इजाजत नही दी थी । जिसकी अपील भी हाईकोर्ट मे मौ0 दीन ने की थी पर वहां पर निचली अदालत का आदेश बरकरार रखा था। तब से लेकर ज्ञानवापी मन्दिर की स्थिति वैसी ही लगातार 1991 तक रही ।

In Akbar's time Vishwanath mandir was reconstructed for Pooja and Mosque was built for namaz alongside.It is there as it is. Vishwanath madir is still there and mosque as well.both communities do there prayers in there respective place.Why some itihaskar and yachikarta want to treat themselves as Aurangzeb in present modern sovereign state and want to encroach upon one communities religious places. ......(2) बादशाह औरंगज़ेब के फरमानों की जांच-पड़ताल के सिलसिले में श्री ज्ञानचंद और पटना म्यूजियम के भूतपूर्व क्यूरेटर डा. पी एल. गुप्ता से हुआ.. ये दोनों महानुभाव बादशाह औरंगज़ेब के विषय में अति महत्वपूर्ण रिसर्च कर रहे थे.. औरंगज़ेब पर हिन्दू दुश्मनी के आरोप के सम्बन्ध में जिस फरमान को बहुत उछाला गया है, वह ‘फ़रमाने-बनारस’ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध है, जो बनारस के मुहल्ला गौरी के एक ब्राहमण परिवार से संबंधित है.. 1905 ई. में इसे गोपी उपाघ्याय के नवासे मंगल पाण्डेय ने सिटी मजिस्ट्रेट के समक्ष पेश किया था.. इसे पहली बार ‘एशियाटिक सोसाइटी’ नामके बंगाल के जर्नल (पत्रिका) ने 1911 ई. में प्रकाशित किया था.. फलस्वरूप रिसर्च करनेवालों का ध्यान इधर गया.. तब से इतिहासकार प्रायः इसका हवाला देते आ रहे हैं और वे इसके आधार पर बादशाह औरंगज़ेब पर आरोप लगाते हैं कि उसने हिन्दू मन्दिरों के निर्माण पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया था, जबकि इस फ़रमान का वास्तविक महत्व उनकी निगाहों से ओझल रह जाता है.. यह लिखित फ़रमान औरंगज़ेब ने 15 जुमादुल-अव्वल 1065 हि. (10 मार्च 1659 ई.) को बनारस के स्थानीय...... काशी विश्वनाथ का मन्दिर क्यों तोड़ना पड़ा.. निःसंदेह इतिहास से यह प्रमाण्ति होता हैं कि बादशाह औरंगजेब ने बनारस के विश्वनाथ मन्दिर और गोलकुण्डा की जामा-मस्जिद को ढा देने का आदेश दिया था, परन्तु इसका कारण कुछ और ही था. विश्वनाथ मन्दिर के सिलसिले में घटनाक्रम यह बयान किया जाता है कि जब औरंगज़ेब बंगाल जाते हुए बनारस के पास से गुज़र रहा था, तो उसके काफिले में शामिल हिन्दू राजाओं ने बादशाह से निवेदन किया कि वहाँ क़ाफ़िला एक दिन ठहर जाए तो उनकी रानियां बनारस जा कर गंगा नदी में स्नान कर लेंगी और विश्वनाथ जी के मन्दिर में श्रद्धा सुमन भी अर्पित कर आएँगी. औरंगज़ेब ने तुरंत ही यह निवेदन स्वीकार कर लिया और क़ाफिले के पडाव से बनारस तक पांच मील के रास्ते पर फ़ौजी पहरा बैठा दिया. रानियां पालकियों में सवार होकर गईं और स्नान एवं पूजा के बाद वापस आ गईं, परन्तु एक रानी (कच्छ की महारानी) वापस नहीं आई, तो उनकी बड़ी तलाश हुई, लेकिन पता नहीं चल सका. जब औरंगजै़ब को मालूम हुआ तो उसे बहुत गुस्सा आया और उसने अपने फ़ौज के बड़े-बड़े अफ़सरों को तलाश के लिए भेजा. आखिर में उन अफ़सरों ने देखा कि गणेश की मूर्ति जो दीवार में जड़ी हुई है, हिलती है. उन्होंने मूर्ति हटवा कर देखा तो तहखाने की सीढ़ी मिली और गुमशुदा रानी उसी में पड़ी रो रही थी. उसकी इज़्ज़त भी लूटी गई थी और उसके आभूषण भी छीन लिए गए थे. यह तहखाना विश्वनाथ जी की मूर्ति के ठीक नीचे था. राजाओं ने इस हरकत पर अपनी नाराज़गी जताई और विरोघ प्रकट किया. चूंकि यह बहुत घिनौना अपराध था, इसलिए उन्होंने कड़ी से कड़ी कार्रवाई करने की मांग की. उनकी मांग पर बादशाह औरंगज़ेब ने आदेश दिया कि चूंकि पवित्र-स्थल को अपवित्र किया जा चुका है. अतः विश्वनाथ जी की मूर्ति को कहीं और ले जाकर स्थापित कर दिया जाए और मन्दिर को गिरा कर ज़मीन को बराबर कर दिया जाए और महंत को गिरफतार कर लिया जाए. डाक्टर पट्ठाभि सीतारमैया ने अपनी प्रसिद्ध पुस्तक ‘द फ़ेदर्स एण्ड द स्टोन्स’ मे इस घटना को दस्तावेजों के आधार पर प्रमाणित किया है. पटना म्यूज़ियम के पूर्व क्यूरेटर डा.पी.एल. गुप्ता ने भी इस घटना की मस्ज़िद तोड़ने की घटना… गोलकुण्डा की जामा-मस्जिद की घटना यह है कि वहां के राजा, जो तानाशाह के नाम से प्रसिद्ध थे, रियासत की मालुगज़ारी वसूल करने के बाद दिल्ली का हिस्सा नहीं भेजते थे. कुछ ही वर्ष में यह रक़म करोड़ों की हो गई. तानाशाह ने यह ख़ज़ाना एक जगह ज़मीन में गाड़ कर उस पर मस्जिद बनवा दी. जब औरंगज़ेब को इसका पता चला तो उसने आदेश दे दिया कि यह मस्जिद गिरा दी जाए. अतः गड़ा हुआ खज़ाना निकाल कर उसे जन-कल्याण के कामों में ख़र्च किया गया. ये दोनों मिसालें यह साबित करने के लिए काफ़ी हैं कि बादशाह औरंगज़ेब न्याय के मामले में मन्दिर और मस्जिद में कोई फ़र्क़ नहीं समझता था. ‘‘दुर्भाग्य से मध्यकाल और आधुनिक काल के भारतीय इतिहास की घटनाओं एवं चरित्रों को इस प्रकार तोड़-मरोड़ कर मनगढंत अंदाज़ में पेश किया जाता रहा है कि झूठ ही ईश्वरीय आदेश की सच्चाई की तरह स्वीकार किया जाने लगा, और उन लोगों को दोषी ठहराया जाने लगा जो तथ्य और मनगढंत बातों में अन्तर करते हैं. आज भी साम्प्रदायिक एवं स्वार्थी तत्व इतिहास को तोड़ने-मरोडने और उसे ग़लत रंग देने में लगे हुए हैं. स्रोत-पुस्तक का नाम: भारतीय संस्कृति और मुग़ल साम्राज्य • लेखक: प्रो. बी. एन पाण्डेय M.A.Rizvi
