4:50 I am a bit confused with this one. The first couple pictures showed Amuraa and early gyaru (original gyaru) which as far as I know were called kogals (the pics showed them without the school uniform but they were highschoolers), then the ganguro is right with the pics n their role model Buriteri but still, I thought ganguro is also called gongoru sometimes (as they are just the same thing) because of translation and spelling error from Japanese to romaji (?) . So I am not sure why she called the original gyaru as gongoru when the gonguro/ganguro existed after them? Definitely wants to know where did she got this information from. There’s plenty of gyaru sub styles so maybe you can find one that also suits the others styles you wanna dress, or you can combine styles or even just switch it up some days, or you can just do the makeup, while clothes are important to gyaru since it’s fashion based, the main element is the makeup and accessories, it’s mainly about how you style the clothes. And also, you don’t need lashes or long nails, there’s plenty of short gyaru nail design choices and while lashes are recommended, you don’t need them!

Then as well as the hairstyles, try doing those as well. Don't forget to research about it since in my opinion if u wanna partake in something u should always know the history of it.

as a gyaru myself... wtf are you talking about? you don't know what you're talking about and only see gyaru as being yamanba and ganguro. you do know that you don't have to be tan to be gyaru right? there literally are sub styles of gyaru where a tan is not needed. for example, himekaji and agejo. stop tryna gatekeep a substyle that is open to all races and skin tones. if a mf don't wanna tan they skin, they don't have to. gyaru is not the same thing all around and has a plethra of different substyles with different guidelines to follow. there are literal japanese gyarus who don't tan... are they suddenly not gyaru anymore and are just y2k girlies? no, they're still gyaru.

@yaya I'm literally japanese... I grew up in japan during the 2000s, I know what gyaru are one of my cousins was a gyaru. Yes there are different gyaru subcultures the majority tan. Yamanba and ganguro also are the ones who do EXTREME tanning. Gyaru tend to instead embrace natural tanning of Asian skintones. I do not mind other races doing gyaru, in fact black people doing gyaru looks amazing since a lot of gyaru fashion is inspired from African Americans. What I have a problem with is white people again stealing from other cultures to play dress up. They don't do research, they have no idea what it was actually like.
