Grinding down a Cybex Weight tree to bare steel and restoring it to match the new gym in Chandler AZ. Going over my process and how to do this yourself.

I’ve got the same Cybex flat bench and I installed a Rep wide pad. Looks great, but it is a bit taller at 18 and one eighth inches. I mostly corrected the height by placing the feet off a 3 quarter inch stall mat. The holes don’t line up so I used lag bolts to secure the pad.

Why no ear protection?

It's really not that loud. Only thing I would ever wear ear protection on in the shop was while using an air hammer
