Sony XG300 Review & Compared To Sony XB43

I am definitely going to get the XG300. I really like the integrated handle, the subtle lights (I don't need my speakers to look like a Christmas tree 🎄), the overall design, and the features (can be used as a charging bank and has a mic for phone calls). And based on several videos I've watched it sounds pretty good too.

@@reubennichols644 it's a mix of various things. Could I buy a speaker for less money with the same sound quality? Yes. You are right. But then that applies to most things does it not? The person that buys a Mercedes or a BMW could just as well buy a Volkswagen and it would get them where they need to go no problem. There's also something called brand equity and pedigree. I've seen other speakers that cost less but some look like toys design wise, or they are brand names I have never even heard of. The XG300 is the only one that I see has this entire package as well as brand pedigree and equity.

I bought it and I love it. Looks better than the JBL for me and I prefer Sony's sound signature. So stop passing your personal opinion off as fact.

Own both and agree with this review. Xb43 has stronger passive radiators than the xg300. I WANT to like the 300 better because of its appearance but unless I am going outside, I reach for the xb43 everytime.

Regarding the USB-C port on the XE-200/300 and XG-300. You can actually pass audio through it. I just installed display units of these speakers, and they came with this USB-C cable that splits into USB-A and an 3.5mm Jack. I tried the cable with a retail model, and it works to pass through audio from my phone (Xperia) to the speaker.

I was led to believe this was for charging only. I will have to try it on my XG300.

@@hillybobs56 To make it work with a retail model, you will have to set it into a sort of demo mode. The XG300 will turn on whenever it detects power from the USB-C, and will also receive audio through it. It can't be turned off when power is coming through the port. Demo for the XG300 seems to only change the use of the USB-C port, while all other function appear to be unchanged, though I have not tested everything. Because of this mode, I found a new use case for Sony Speakers. I can have them installed into my car and they will power on and off with ignition. I have an XG300 dedicated as a sub for my truck this way.

I've tried to press the play button longer but that just played the pre-installed song samples as demo and not as a demo mode.Many thanks in advance for your answer 👍

@@demirewrim Info about the demo mode is given to staff, so it isn't well known. First, be sure the device is connected to a power source via usb C. Now press volume + (5x), play/pause (5x), volume - (5x) under 10 secs. If performed correctly, all the lights will flash, and your device is now in demo mode. The unit will now turn on and off depending if it is receiving power or not. Simple follow the sequence again to return to normal.

i have 2 xb33s and a jbl boombox i recently bought the xg300 for 199.00 it had a update day one out of box ..let me say i absolutely love the xg300 great battery great handle nice lights megabass updated sounds way better now and i usally use the eg to my liking bass and highs on full how anyone can say it doesnt sound great and loud is beyond me its my fav speaker now

In stamina mode The XG300 does have way less base but does sound a little less muffled

If you are going to use LDAC for your Bluetooth connection then you need to have your music in FLAC or WAV or ALAC or something similar. LDAC plays up to 990mb/sec but if you don't have tracks at that bitrate or higher then it won't have any benefit over the regular Bluetooth. If you just use a streaming service or mp3s you won't have good sounding music.

Means best to be heard songs in LDAC, FLAC, WAV, ALAC formats? For Normal mp3s and streaming music format the speaker won’t play at its best?

@@mistapk7 mp3s are compressed music and as a result lose quality. 24 bit FLAC is almost as good as the studio recording. LDAC will play up to 990kbits/sec whereas ordinary Bluetooth is just 320. Playback using an audio cable will play the file at it's best often up to 6000 kbits/sec.

Hello! I hope your good I’m one of your KZbin subs and I love all your informative content. I wanted to ask you what portable Bluetooth speaker would yo recommend me for Djing outdoors? I’ve been seeing that jbl boombox 2 and partybox 100 but I’ve heard boom box two does not sound well with aux cable (I would use a rca to 3.5 cable for that jack input in most Bluetooth speakers). I’m not sure about what to get or what would be the best option. I would appreciate your response. Love from the DR🇩🇴

Just saw the XG300 in shop and it looks much prettier than XB43... and also do XE300 vs XB33 pls 🥺 holding an XB33 loving the look of XE300 but not sure about if it's worth it to upgrade

no its not the XB 33/43 sounds way better than XE200/300 they are so muffled Sounds like under water... Sony just make misstakes when release BT speakers. They can do it easy better :(( really a disappointment what sony release there. Sony speakers last 2 Released no power at maximal Loudnes. but xb 33 and 43 sounded not too bad, but the maximum volume is just too weak. XB 43 you can get for 100 Euros... or if you want more buy the tribit stormbox blast

I got them refurbished for 109.00 got two pump up the EQ and in stereo mode is sounds great when 8 give pool classes th3 sound is amazing love it at this price Spotify has a eq setting and Sonys eq makes it sound much better I like it.

But that's because the XB43 has does have a slightly brighter sound signature now it's not huge like what we saw when we go from the XG300 to the xtreme 3 but the difference is noticeable

XG300 I don't recommend it for $300 but recommended for around $250 or even less but it still has a light feature but this light feature it's just an overall downgrade from Sony xb43 and one of the comments say that light feature looks awesome his comment is an absolute liar
