As a JBL Flip 4 user, I'd have to give the win to the wonderboom. Its sound is the best and it lasts a while longer than the JBL. I really dislike the changes JBL has applied to their speakers recently which is why I think I'd rather switch to the wonderboom.

@@christophoris7259 just dump jbl and get Sony or the Anker motion +. Both are quality speakers and will be able to pair with future models. Just don't buy the Sony xb10/20 series models, they're garbage, as shown in the video. Stick to the xb30/31/32s

The Anker Soundcore Motion+ is currently priced at $99 on Amazon. It's 30W IPX7 waterproof, uses type C charging, and is louder and clearer than all of these. The Motion+ is also louder and clearer than the JBL Charge 3 & 4 and is even louder and better sonically than the Doss Soundbox XL. I own both a Motion+ and the Doss XL and ran comparisons. Oh yeah, the Motion+ can also be paired with a second one as well.

I choose xb22..because stereo drivers! (and Live Mode). Is amazing when you listening quality made music, full of effects. (Try Elke Klein - days and nights compilation).. ANY sound system should have at least stereo sound...in the world of Atmos... The bass is deeper and more accurate in response on low and mid volume, but flip 5 take it on high volume. Anyway, i'm using it also in my bedroom for my portable projector, on AUX with an additional BT receiver with AptX LL...so no lipsync that all, and the Life Mode fill the room , insteat hearing everithing from center of the image... I cannot talk about woonderb. , I didn't have it...

Dxrrxw ➊ I got 4 speaker: the JBL Flip 5, the Sony SRS-xb31, the UE Hyperboom and also the UE Wonderboom 2 and I am planning to buy the new XB43. Little speaker are loud, I got to admit it! But a big speaker like my UE Hyperboom sounds really louder than little speaker and the amount of physical bass you get out of a big speaker like this one is worth the price :)

For folks that weren't aware, the Flip 5 has a single-speaker configuration vs the Flip 4's true stereo output. I own a 4, but not a 5, so I can't rightly campare the two head-to-head… Just emphasizing the difference. YMMV but check your local Walmart for Flip 4s on clearance. Got mine a month ago for $35 since they were making room for the Flip 5s. Best deal ever!

They all distort at 100%. I understand wanting to demonstrate their relative volumes, but the ability to judge the quality of sound goes out the window. Maybe set all the speakers you’re comparing to 80%? It will still show relative volume, but will be much more useful for judging the quality. Thanks for the great vid.

Sony is a clear winner....just did a comparison in the store....back to back....jbl is priced higher and still at 90%vol the music is sort of messed up like all mids blurred...sony still had those low and high seperated....definitely at a cheaper price....sony was a best budget buy for me atleast!!! Be mindful even if the battery back is 6 hrs its more than wat u need....no questions to it....just love the sony expertise there

Your review does not make sense at times. You said the JBL and UE are better to be rough on when fabric is much more likely to tear and wear out than plastic like the Sony? And you compared battery life with the lights on for the Sony when the others do not have lights and probably should have turned them off otherwise it’s not apples to apples. The rest is very well done and helpful in my purchasing decision!

Ive been using my Wonderboom speaker for over 3 years now and I love it, because I know how rough and careless can I be with my technology, plus I am always traveling, So this speaker is super handy and easy to carry everywhere, decent volume for its size and I have dropped it in mud and water and one time I forgot it outside for a whole night and it poured rain, the next day I was so scared to lose it that I put it for 24hrs on rise and then turn it on again and it worked! But now it has a serious charging issue, I tried with different cables but I feel its life cycle is coming to an end :( But im thinking of getting the same one again :D
