Those are good tests. As someone who works in building facades, dealing with ensuring water proofing and durability they designed it just like a building facade 🙂 This is why I would expect with acrylic vs glass. Acrylic scratches more easily, but is more difficult to break, and it's much safer for acrylic to break when it does than with glass. They did good making sure the primary seal is inside the casing where it can't get damaged from dropping or someone's nails running along the seam.

I still love my hyperboom. If you can get a deal, yeah sure get it. But don’t get mad if a new one comes out soon. The boombox 3 is also a good option. Plus it charges with an AC port.

Water damage usually isnt instant, sometimes it takes up to 2 weeks for corrosion to set in. Would be grest to have a long term prespective next time. The Pulse 5 is crazy durable though, and great vid, thanks!

I think the end caps aren’t designed to keep it water tight so when it drops and opens there’s an actual water seal underneath it that’s separate from the end caps which is good design because you don’t want it breaking after a first drop

Yeah one drop from one of my pulse 4s it’s cracked and another one of my pulse 4s got knocked over on my drive way and got deep scratches

This is an indoor speaker why would you submerge a 250.00 speaker in water or drop it mine are kept inside where I listen to music the pulse for me stays inside you got the flip 6 and charge 5 etc for outdoors
