Whitney is a beautiful person, inside and out. Her thoughtfulness, self-awareness and wisdom at such a young age is impressive. She showed true courage in turning down her college gymnastics career. To me, she was, and is, a great role model to all those younger gymnasts and to young people generally. The songs I've heard of hers have been moving and beautifully sung. I wish her every success for the future and hope that she continues to just be herself because that is more than enough.

I really appreciated this interview, and Whitney is so smart and insightful. I watched you off and on over the years and saw your talent, but I also felt like something else was stirring in your mind. I'm glad you found what you really love and had the courage to pursue it.

I always believed that Whitney would succeed in bringing her gymnastics to the level of the Olympics. I felt from her what she describes in this video. Be hard on yourself. Seeing this in a small child is not standard. And that's great when you do sports. At the same time, it's great to show to the public that even if a child is talented, it wants to do sports, it loves its sport, a child trains a lot, and is detail-oriented, it has a supportive family... So the path can turn out differently. Thank you for the opportunity to take a close look at the athlete's journey. Whitney's KZbin channel was unique.

Thanks for your kind words. I totally agree that even though we might have a path we choose as kids, priorities can change and it's all okay.

I thought the opposite - I knew, even when she was a young child, that she would be way too tall to compete at the Olympic level. I think I estimated her height based on how tall her parents were, and figured she'd be at least 5'9". Olympic gymnasts are most commonly 4'8" to 5'3". The odds made it near impossible. She surprised me by making it so far. Level 10 and recruited by a strong college gymnastics program. She very much overachieved.

Whitney should go to school for physical therapy. Every time a teammate has back pain they ask her to walk on them so she obviously has a gift for it. Music I don't see her a a musician

You don't even know her personally. what makes you so qualified to tell her how to live her life? I'm sure you didn't have bad intentions, but this sort of comment is parasocial, and it's mean of you to trample on her dreams like that.
